    Eye screening

I’ve twice had the screening without drops. My regular optician suggested asking as I have wide pupils. On each of my last 2 screenings I did that and it was agreed subject to them getting decent images. Luckily they did!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

M&S sell some dinky mini apples. Expensive but about a quarter of the size of a normal apple. They’re called ‘rockit’ and might meet your ‘whole apple’ craving. I’ve had a few recently and recommend.

    Thank You @Bulkbiker

I would also like to add my personal thanks to you. When I joined the forum you were already in remission and were one of the first to help me. As I began to familiarise myself with the forum you quickly became one of the voices I most trusted as your posts demonstrated a lot of knowledge and...

    Keto

That would likely change if you became ‘fat adapted’ and started burning fat in preference to carbs for fuel. Now keto would help with that - I suspect you’re a bit ‘twixt and between’ which means your body isn’t dealing with the morning exercise. I’d be tempted to try significantly upping...

Ground up pork scratchings will do a similar job or try some cheese to bind. I often find that things bind together better than you’d think. Having them very cold prior to cooking also helps.

    Vegan and diabetic

Excellent news! If you feel like it a post in the Success Stories with more on how you did it would be great. There aren’t many examples on here of vegans in remission and I for one find it hard to make constructive suggestions (I’m about as far from vegan as it’s possible to be), so it would...

    Operation for gallbladder removal

Sorry you‘re going through this. It’s pretty standard for hospitals in the U.K. to set a threshold similar to the HbA1c levels you state for non-emergency operations. However, it should not be standard that you discover this so close to a scheduled operation. It should have been flagged up...

Weightwatchers new tie in to Big Pharma

Fact is there’s no vested interest in assisting people to eat real foods cooked by themselves. Cheap, simple, sustainable……..

Type 2 LOW CARB AND LIVER DISEASE

@Annb have a watch of this video of Dr David Unwin talking on the subject. Back of my head’s in the audience somewhere!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Things happen. If I may, I’d suggest not punishing yourself and returning to the meals that have been working so well for you lately. It’ll help with satiety and any lingering cravings from yesterday and make getting back on track easier.

Altering Freestyle Libre 2 Change Over Day

I’d just put it on 2 days early and then activate when the other one runs out. If you want to start it early just scan the new one and you’ll get a message asking whether you want to end the old sensor and start the new one.

    Yogurts

Fage 0% is good. 3g carb/100g and no fat. Decent amount of protein too. Comes in various sizes. They also do 2% and 5% versions with the same carb content.

    Best Keto Diet Plan

It will help, especially with insulin resistance, but as a stand-alone tool won’t directly do very much for blood sugar levels. It’ll need be accompanied by at least some kind of carb reduction.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

No, especially if you have a lid on the pot, it will steam in its own juices.
