Well done with the flower shots Pavlos. I like the shallow depth of field shots to make the blooms stand out, and Im getting jealous of the Spring colours (and warmth!)

Ladies ( and gentlemen) what is your favourite perfume/scent ?

I have worn Polo since the 80's.......... Creed's 'Green Irish Tweed' is a favourite, but its just too expensive! At the moment I use the body shop's 'Red Musk' oil even though its marketed as a womans scent, I really like the smell.

    What's your social attitude?

Progressivism 60 Socialism 25 Tenderness 34.375 Your test scores indicate that you are a tough-minded cultural centrist; this is the political profile one might associate with a jaded materialist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity...

Diabetes, life and all that - personal diary

The last time I was in Dubai was the late 80's, and spent New Years eve in The red lion bar in the metropole hotel. As the duty Royal Navy warship on patrol at the time, the priority was ti find somewhere in the UAE to get a beer, so paying the exorbitant ticket price of £45 wasn't an option. As...

    Another Newcastle Diet

I found the second week was the hurdle, always hungry (the body's reaction to a determined effort to keep below 800 calories a day). It got easier in week three, and weeks 4 and 5 were routine. Dont label @douglass99 as the forum's Clarkson (I think Clarkson is a tool!)

    Another Newcastle Diet

You seem well able to stick to the rgours of the diet, Douglas. What are your targets, or do you aim to complete the 8 weeks and see what turns up? I stopped after 5 weeks as I hit my targets and apart from one Kilo back on, Ive maintained the results for a month or so now. Good Luck!

    Different meters--- different results!

As i only get strips prescribed twice a year ( its better than some, I suppose!) I have bought the code free Meter and am currently using both meters at the same time to asses the differences in readings. I'm surprised at the results though.....anything up to 0.6 higher with the codefree against...

    'Newcastle diet' advice

As an update, I stopped the ND at the end of week 5 as my BG was more or less constantly in the 5s on waking, and 2 hours after eating. Blood pressure had dropped to 100/65. I considered that to be sufficient to be able to eat again! So for the last couple of weeks I have followed a LCHF way of...

Just how important is the 'Dawn Phenomenon'?

I have read and understand what a liver dump is, but I am struggling to understand what the risks/wories are I have a fairly reasonable control throughout the day, ranging from 4.8 to 5.5, but almost always have a fasting reading of 5.8 to 6.4 ( i take a reading after I have been up for half an...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

5.2 this morning, the only problem is that my blood pressure is dropping as well (100/60 against a norm of 120/70 with medication) so I can get a bit dizzy when standing up quickly!
