    Blindness

Hello, my 30yr old son has just lost his eyesight due to retinopathy. His care quality in Derbyshire is questionable and getting a pump is impossible at the Derby Royal. Can anyone provide information on different types of pens which will (a) be available on prescription and (b) assist with...

    Looping

Hello, I've been looping with AAPS, OMNIPOD and Libre 2 for a few years now. The improvement in my time in range has been great and I've reduced the number of hypos. My clinic has now offered me a T Slim device which offers a closed loop system. Has anyone used the T Slim closed-loop system and...

Josephine's Pumping Adventure: Navigating Exercise with Omnipod Dash

The below link is the documentation for the AAPS. My simple mind interpretation is that Omnipod Dash is compatible but Omnipod 5 isn't. Regardless, moving to a loop system is a huge investment of time and confidence (and you need to be rich in both). Best wishes...

Josephine's Pumping Adventure: Navigating Exercise with Omnipod Dash

Josephine, Great question and it has been really interesting read with all the responses. I'm also very impressed with your diligence and efforts to manage your diabetes. It can be exhausting. Personally I could never manage to remember all the rules successfully. In the end, I found that...

Freestyle Libre 2 - constant false signal loss alarms

I get this problem to. I hold the app icon and push the "i" button on the popup. This takes you to a Setup screen and you should "Force Stop" the app. I then restart the app with the icon (not scanning) and usually it starts working again. I repeat if it doesn't.

I always need more insulin when I have an illnesses. I am also careful of what medicines I take, avoiding the ones with sugar. I believed for many years believing the temperature changed my insulin requirements. I am not so sure any more. I think it was more likely due to the changes to my...

    Libre Freestyle difference

Hi , thanks for the reply. Yes, my app is up to date. I don't think I can update the reader's software. I have attached two images: one is a screen shot of the app and the other is a photo of the reader. You can see theb graphs are offset.

    Libre Freestyle difference

Levemir split dose - am I weird?

Hello @noblehead. I have now been using the Tresiba for about six weeks. So far i feel that its amazing. My fasting resuts are typically between 5 and 6 and I seldom rise above 8, unless I forget to inject. I was previously on around 40units of levimir but am only needing 23units of Tresiba...

    Newbie

I work really hard to get my HBA1C result to between 6 and 7. And I am so glad that my dieticians have had consistent guidance from NICE to work with over the years and the different clinics i have attended. Statitics are not tailored to an individual so there will always be some kind of issue...

Levemir split dose - am I weird?

I use Levimir and thought it was a wonder drug. After reading this post I am calling my GP now to ask for Tresiba.:) I find my levimir dose changes mostly because of temperature but usually stay near to 50/50. I also find a single unit of levimir makes a huge difference in my blood sugar...

    Juicing

Hi, i eat at least six fruits a day but rather than finish them in one go i spread them out through out the day. I tend to run my basal bolus a little higher so i keep my blood sugar up by eating fruit. I juice occasionally when my fruit bowl is looking a little sad and drink it through the day...

    Affected by the seasons

I find that I have to increase my levemir during the warm season and reduce it during winter. It increases by as much as 15%. All health professionals and other diabetics I have spoken to do not recognise this phenomenon. Changing my humalog does not help my control. I have been a diabetic for...
