Anyone else feel their Doctor(s) let them down ?

Jim: So are you saying that if you're not carrying excess protein, and don't have excess glycogen in the liver, then 1) the dawn phenomenon does not happen, or is reduced, and 2) stored body fat doesn't get used in that case to fuel the dawn phenomenon? And thanks for the detailed explanation...

Anyone else feel their Doctor(s) let them down ?

Jim: Now i'm a little confused. I would have thought that if there's not enough glucose or protein in the blood to "feed" the dawn phenomenon, then one's system would start burning fat. But from what you are saying it seems that doesn't happen, and the dawn phenomenon simply starts...

Anyone else feel their Doctor(s) let them down ?

Hi Jim: Thanks for backing me up. I posted what I did because low carb eating helped me a lot, but stopped at a certain level. When i added intermittent fasting, it brought me to a whole new level! BG readings are now solidly in the non-diabetic range, thank goodness.:)

Anyone else feel their Doctor(s) let them down ?

Try an 18:6 fast and do it every day, not once in a while. Intermittent in regards to IF means the fast is not continuous, but broken up into regular "fasting windows" and "eating windows". Read stuff by Dr. Jason Fung to get more details... Regarding carb count, if you read the nutrition...

Anyone else feel their Doctor(s) let them down ?

hi Patrick. Have you considered intermittent fasting in combination with a careful, moderate low-carb (<100 carbs/day) diet? Not exactly rocket science, but it's worked wonders for me, and within only a couple of months time. I suggest you try it, and if it works for you you can forget about...

As I posted earlier, try Eucerin, Aveeno, and Cerave, all available on iHerb.com. Worked for me.

    Feeling weak

It's about $23 usd for 90 servings. That's about a three month supply, if you drink one glass a day. Not expensive at all. I drink about three or four glasses a day, varying the flavors. Still pretty cheap. And it DOES taste great! You can change the displayed currency to your own...

    Feeling weak

Just a suggestion: When I first started experimenting with dietary changes, etc.,, I also got hit with weak, shaky feelings. I did a little research and was led to believe that my electrolytes might be low. I've been hooked on using an electrolyte replenisher ever since. Here's a very good...

    Dawn phenomenon and gluconeogenesis

Does anyone know what happens when the liver is depleted of glycogen (or is very low on glycogen) and the dawn phenomenon kicks in during sleep? Does gluconeogenesis start converting fat to glucose to increase BG levels? In other words, does your body start shedding fat to feed the dawn...

Question for Rachox: Why did you choose the Dual over the Tee2 for your personal use? I'm trying to choose between the two. If any one else has an opinion I would appreciate hearing from you too. Thanks.

This thread is getting very interesting! It would be nice if after a bit more experimentation, analysis, and contemplation we could actually come up with something like a "summary report" on what the status quo really is with the issue of inexpensive strips vs. acceptable accuracy (I mean...

Then how come other brands (such as CareSens) that are also manufactured in South Korea or other "far away places" don't suffer the same problems?? Or do they? Am i right in thinking that at least the Caresens strips have acceptable levels of accuracy? What is the answer to this significant...

Thanks again Rachox, and you are right: the pdf shows it has a memory. the reason i thought it didn't have a memory is because on the Caresens site it omits the memory in it's spec sheet for the dual. http://www.i-sens.com/html/proN/CareSens_Dual.php. It DOES show the memory for some of the...
