Not such a happy new year.

Sugar tax is the problem. It was once a couple jelly baby’s to sort a hypo now it’s half the packet. I remember my first hypos and they were a scary affair. You do get to know the earlier signs. For me I start to think I have forgotten something. Then all the alarms start going off. Your...

    Beer Carb Content

I never inject based on BG when drinking. It’s not the same you literally **** it away your liver processing it also takes out BG. When ever I have tried to be cleaver it has never resulted well. Normally hypo while out which kind of ruins the night. Or a major crash the following day once the...

    Low blood sugar

I order glucose by the box load of amazon and have them scattered everywhere. Car almost every room in the house, stables, gym bag, lap top bag. Instead of a pen you might want to have sachets of glucose. As was said you don’t want to really on an injection route as it would normally be the...

    Is it the vaccine!?!?!

i just noticed your moderator and staff member. That is really interesting considering you did not actually read my post and answer my actual question. The answer should have only been yes or no

    Is it the vaccine!?!?!

The consultant would say my slow is right. Fast acting to me is not fast it takes for ever to bring BG down. The amount of insulin would be right but the time is 3 hours. I can accelerate that but end up in hypo. After breakfast I very rarely get down before lunch then get down again before my...

    Is it the vaccine!?!?!

I did have some crazy first thing in the morning blood test I had to do at the hospital. That confirmed 100% type 1 when I was diagnosed the honeymoon period was already over. Interesting you mention anaemic. I only compare Hba1c with what the libre predicts and an actual blood test. Which with...

Dexcom G6 is chlorinated chicken at a huge price

Daxcom was the first sensor I used. It was daunting experience after being diagnosed for a week using this huge needle to get a sensor in my stomach. But then having to calibrate every 12 hours and it being way out when doing so. I did not like having something on my stomach just did not look...

    Police Cells And No Insulin.

They have a duty of care darn right they need to be brought to account. Mainly so they become diabetic aware and some poor sod does not die of a hypo they shove in the drink tank.

    Libre Vs Finger Prick

If you have to calibrate every 12 hours why bother with it? You might as well just do 3 tests a day.

    Libre Vs Finger Prick

Closer than daxcom that has to be said daxcom can be way out. G5 anyway. Not sure I even want to try the g6. When I actually remember to order a free style I rarely blood test unless I feel low and it saying I am a bit low. (Hope that makes sense)

Husband Prescribed Wrong Insulin, V Worried & Confused

One thing I also did when I became type 1 November last year was kind of force a hypo just to see what it felt like dextrose at the ready. I am now aware of what a hypo is and don’t panic.

    Dafne Access

How are folk finding access to dafne. I was told at Blackpool I should go on one in March in May they said it was doubtful this year in fact they did not know which year. I want to go on it because I want a pump and the course is a tick in the box to get one. You can’t private fund the course or...
