I'm underweight also, and have a reading of 7.3 fasting, I am 5ft 10 and 10st in weight, I been gaining weight because I am eating nuts that's on top of my non-vegetarian diet, Could anybody tell me if the nuts affect my BG? Kind Regards

Yes my doctor stopped me from monitoring my BG, he said it wasn't nesessary. But In taking a reading once a week or once a month is very assuring .I, like you bought my own but as you say it's very expensive!

I had a blood test a fortnight ago

I got the E-error message on my newly bought Aviva Accu-Chek, After reading the instructions again I realised I was putting the blood sample on the face of the test strip instead of the front edge!

Well the problem Is that I can't afford to lose much more weight, I am 5.8, weigh 10.3, I feel fit and healthy, diet only type 2, If I give up much more I will have to run around when I take a shower to get wet! Do you think I would be better to take a tablet thus enabling me to maintain my weight?

No Gudrun I am not on any medication just diet but I going to see the diabetic nurse after a blood test.then I expect she will tell me that I will need to take medication.
