Blood test results have come back - 1 abnormal result

Yes they just did a fasting level and the 2 hour level. I just wanted to ask another question too. Am I right in thinking that type 1s tend to have higher levels than type 2s? Type 1s have to take insulin to lower their levels? Both my hba1cs were healthy and all my fasting levels are non...

Blood test results have come back - 1 abnormal result

No I have not been told they will check on it. You can see what the letter says, that they recommend I go back to my GP for further testing. That is it I’m afraid. And I didn’t think that non diabetic people can get readings under 4, and get dizzy and shaky regularly? Is it the case that they...

Blood test results have come back - 1 abnormal result

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post an update on my situation. So yesterday I got my results of my blood tests I've had recently. For my hba1c I had in February at my first Endo appointment, the result is 37 mmol/L. I had a 2 hour OGTT in March. The fasting level is 5.1 which the letter says is...

First OGTT tomorrow - really scared

At McDonald’s now eating some lunch. As I said, I couldn’t really feel anything when they put it in, but it hurt when they took it out. I didn’t look so I had no idea what equipment there was, but it felt like it was stuck to my skin with tape, that did hurt when it came off. I’m scared of...

First OGTT tomorrow - really scared

I am here now. It turns out I DO have to have a cannula fitted. I don’t have a choice. I was very scared and burst into tears. Having the next blood test at 11. This will be the longest two hours of my life. Fortunately the cream worked and I couldn’t really feel anything.

    How old is everyone

I'm 26. I have not been diagnosed with anything, but I get regular hypos and also high blood sugar. Have had these issues for 2+ years. Don't seem to get taken seriously by Doctors (apart from the one who referred me to the Endo department) The others just seem to fob me off.

First OGTT tomorrow - really scared

It is a 2 hour test. It was suggested to me by the Endo and I told him I would like to have it done. I can't remember if he explained why I should have it. That makes me feel anxious about the cannula. My partner had one fitted at a hospital appointment last year and I couldn't even look at it...

First OGTT tomorrow - really scared

It is a 2 hour test. I will take some travel brochures as I'm going on holiday in August, so I can plan what to do there. I will take some magazines too.

First OGTT tomorrow - really scared

I have always been scared of anything involving blood and needles. I used to be petrified of injections at school, as they always made me feel dizzy. I got a ringing noise in my ears afterwards, and my vision went funny. I had to lie down for 10/15 minutes after each injection. I don't even like...

First OGTT tomorrow - really scared

Last month I had my first appointment at the Endocrinology department and the consultant referred me for an OGTT. The appointment is tomorrow. Just a little background on me, I have always had a phobia of blood tests. I used to refuse them until my health issues got worse and I knew I needed to...

Possible undiagnosed diabetes, regular hypos, advice appreciated

Hello everyone, thank you very much for your replies. I often get low mid morning/around lunch time as I try to hold off until 12pm before eating, would this be fasting, rather than reactive, Hypoglycemia? Usually I can handle holding off until 12pm, but the past few days I haven’t been able...
