    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

Not sure of the answer to this. However my fasting bloods were low on the same blood as my HbA1c that came back as pre diabetic, almost type 2. Since I’ve been testing them each morning they are low 4s, high 3s. So for me I think it’s the after food numbers that are more of an indicator...

    Prediabetes What next?

Thanks for all the help guys. I now have access to all my blood work online. It’s fab. Pretty much every number is in the middle of the normal range for everyone. Even fasting glucose was 4.2. It’s only the HbA1c that’s high and ferratin levels low (although iron levels are fine)

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

I think I will continue to test for the first few months as I get my head around it all. During pregnancy it was so strict due to the hormones etc so I could eat certain foods one week and the next my readings became out of range. We had prescription strips and had to test 8 times a day. So 7...

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

Yes and all within range. Before dinner this evening 5.1 Had homemade frittata with salad. Followed by blueberries and full fat Greek yogurt. I tested 2 hours after but did have a hot drink with milk in between and it was 5.5 I only have 3 testing strips left as I’m just using the leftovers...

    Prediabetes What next?

Yes England. I asked about it today. We have a system called ‘SystmOnline’ and we can book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, see general information. There is a section called results and when you click on it, it says ‘access denied’ my gp surgery said they hide results as it causes...

    Prediabetes What next?

I rang the gp and asked for a print out of blood results and I can collect them later this week! Also they’ve asked me to come in for another blood test. A repeat vitamin D test and a PTH test. Which is a parathyroid test. I asked why these where needed when I was told my previous blood test...

    Prediabetes What next?

@Bluetit1802 am I right in thinking that type 2 don’t get testing strips on prescription? While pregnant I was given a testing kit and got lancets and strips on prescription. But that brand of kit is too expensive to continue. So that’s for the links, I’m going to buy a kit with less expensive...

    Hello Everyone

Hi, I’ve recently been diagnosed as ‘prediabetic’ after spending 7 months of my pregnancy with gestational diabetes. I controlled it during pregnancy with diet alone. I ignored the nhs diet advice and found a fab supportive website and Facebook group that helped so much. It was an educational...

    Prediabetes What next?

I’m not over worrying. I had it during pregnancy and now it’s in the rise since being pregnant. I can’t just ignore it and hope it stops going up. I need to get into the normal range.

    Prediabetes What next?

Thanks guys!! I just feel lost because during pregnancy I followers a low carb plan and it worked, while I also had to stay out of ketosis as I was pregnant. This was all through my own research as the nhs promoted slimming world to me. So I went to my appointment expected to hear about lowering...

Hi, 32yr old female here. I have a family history of diabetes. My brother had badly controlled type 2 that turned into type 1 as an adult. He never has controlled it and has lost a limb due to this. My sister has controlled type 2 but had a poor appetite prior. I had Gestational diabetes which...
