Well...it’s been a long time since I popped in here I started on a pump about 7 weeks ago and at the same time my dsn switched me to fiasp from novorapid. After about a month I developed the dreaded old dry mouth that I experienced before diagnosis and it’s driving me batty GP did bloods that...
Hi @MisplacedIdentity your story sounds so similar to mine. I was diagnosed in April (I’m 45) and what a shock! My eyes were very blurry after diagnosis and I had to buy cheap reading glasses from Wilko just to even be able to look at my phone. The blurriness completely went after about 4 weeks...
Hi
I was only diagnosed in April and was all over the place at first. I saw my DN and a dietician a week later and it all started to improve. I’m nowhere near an expert BUT it has gotten easier everyday and I’m doing better now.
I don’t get on here much but I always seen nothing but positivity...
Oh no I mean I take the novorapid to match my carbs, 10:1 for breakfast and 15:1 for lunch my blood sugar readings are generally the same at each meal, 9s,10s and 11s so I am having to correct with each meal too.
:)
Hi,
Yes do carb counting but my DN said a few weeks ago that if my reading at lunch was the same at breakfast and so on, my novorapid is right but the Tresiba is too low?
Thanks for your reply :)
Morning everyone,
I have been taking 9 units of Tresiba at about 8pm for a month or so (along with Novorapid with food) diagnosed 5 months ago. My readings have crept up to the 9s, 10s and 11s at meals so increased to 10 Tresiba. Then the 4am hypos for 4 nights so went back down to 9 units...
Hi @Antje77, yes I’ve been correcting at mealtimes, and pre-bolus. I’m hoping going back to work today might help as I’ve had a very lazy weekend and eaten a fair bit :) thanks for your help :)
Hi @kitedoc, I take novorapid with meals. I have had quite a lazy weekend :), thanks for your reply, might give the DN ring ahead of seeing her tomorrow. Thanks :)
Hi everyone,
I am due a review and bloods with my DN Wednesday so have been keeping a food diary and readings on a sheet for her for 2 weeks (I do keep my readings recorded on my phone usually) but the last 2 days I have struggled to get below 14 :( my readings in the mornings have been in the...
I’m going to Hyde Park to see the legend that is Roger Waters :) an email has arrived from the organisers stating only a sealed bottle of water is allowed in. Obviously I’m going to be carrying in cartons of orange juice and jelly babies in my bag. I’ve emailed and tweeted the organisers as...
Hi, my vision was blurry (and worse after hospitalisation) for about 3 weeks and then over a weekend it went completely back to normal. I was diagnosed 3 months ago and I’ve just been for my eye check last week xxx
Welcome and what a lovely name you have chosen! I’m a newbie too but a LOT older than you lol! You sound like a really smart girl and you’re in the right place, I’ve found no end of advice on here xxx
Hi Jayden,
I also find anything below a 5 (but over 4) is a warning sign so I have a biscuit and just sit for 10 minutes. Below a 4 is when I treat with orange juice. Besides I love a biscuit so see it as an excuse to have one good luck xxx
I usually have to pretty much force myself to eat one just because I thought I had to take insulin with every meal so I will be very happy to drop them and stick with just a carb free salad xx
