    New Creon Supply Problems 2020

This seems to be a yearly problem. It was around this time last year there was a problem with supply also. Its not just Creons, I have pancrease as a backup and even those are hard to get in the 24k. Last year people blamed Brexit, this year some are sayin its down to Covid19. Wonder what...

    Moving to the Pump

Hi all, I'm currently going through the process of choosing a pump and have the following choices. Roche Combo Med 640g Omni Tslim As I'm not funded for CGM and the cost to self fund currently is out of scope I've tried to look forward and whittle it down. I am fortunate to at present to be...

Taking time to test, think, record, inject, chuck and tidy.

I tend to bolus for the meal at my usual estimated time before I think it will be ready. No dramas though if isn't as I am at home and can always fill the time gap with something from the naughty cupboard. Oh the naughty cupboard is filled with chocolate. If need be I add a top of rapid after...

Getting harder to control when maintaining a low BG.

Hi @Fndwheelie, I've always found the difference between my libre and fp even with the time delay has been no more than .6 difference. There was a difference when my BG was up and down faster than a roller coaster. But now generally steady. Time in target around 92%. My current issue is that...

Getting harder to control when maintaining a low BG.

@Muneeb "I never get why people try and get into the gram level per unit of insulin, because its just not predictable enough to be that accurate". When your fairly newly diagnosed and all you have is Carb Counting and the courses you attend are all about Carb Counting then you should...

Getting harder to control when maintaining a low BG.

Hello all, Apologies for the long thread, but wanted to try and get as much info that could help. Whilst I am type 3c I am treated as T1 and therefore thought I would ask here. First though I have to say I am glad I sugar surf otherwise the amount of hypo's I could have had this past week...

    Tips to lower hba1c?

Hi @_becs I agree with @Scott-C that sugar surfing is an alternative method. Whilst it is not for everyone and some DSN's frown upon it especially if you MDI. But I proved them that sugar surfing gives results as I was only diagnosed in Feb with a A1c of 121 and here we are in August and...

    Acute pancreatitis and diabetes meds

Hi Danny, I too had the same symptoms with Metformin on both quick and slow release. For me I was also at that point found to need insulin also. I managed to get my BG under control and stopped my metformin. Tried it for a week and then informed my DSN that I had stopped and what my BG count...

Not sure how bad this is.

Evening all, Just as I thought I was turning a corner being a 3c and finally getting my head around being diagnosed with diabetes, I get a letter from the consultant ref my pancreatitis. My pancreatic duct is dialated quite above the norm. They can see some fibrosis and scarring and I now need...

    Update ref Creons.

For all those worried about lack of Creons, please read below from Mylan UK. “We had a delay in March with the manufacturing which has resulted in some areas of the UK being out of stock. Just to reassure you and the patients, we are expecting a delivery this week so nationally all depots will...

    When to test?

If I were to follow the "normal" guidelines of inject 15 mins prior then test 2hrs after then my BG will always be high. For me the biggest drop is at the 3hr after food.

    Bolus Insulin Units

Many thanks all, Compelling reading, especially when at 48 it's like learning a whole new trade. Hardest part is what works today may not work tomorrow therefore whilst the basics will remain its the content keeps changing. Ive quickly realised how some parts affect me differently to others...

Hi all, Just though id post a quick question here whilst waiting for an answer from the Diabetic Centre. Newly diagnosed awaiting course. I am on Novorapid and at present the ratio I am on is 1:10. But seem to have a problem with how I am working out the carbs to units. For example. BG...

    Newly Diagnosed type 3c

Thanks Kirktown, Until next Monday when I can get to see the practice nurse and see where we go from there. Just now that I know and know how bad it had gotten, I suppose another few days won't do any harm. On a positive note, since finding out and using Metformin I've managed to get BG down...

    Newly Diagnosed type 3c

Thanks, I will speak to my GP once again and even though I'll understand what she will be saying I'll ask for it to be written down. Day 2 of Metformin and BG is down to 9.6 after 1st tablet with breakfast and a steady walk afterwards. Had a very low carb lunch and it's not gone up much this...
