    Covid elevated blood sugar

Even though I feel good now my blood sugar is now averaging 15mmol during the day and 11 at night. They want me to try Farxiga for a month to see if that aides in bringing down my levels until I'm more recovered. Right now I'm only on metformin so I don't have Insulin to give that extra push. I...

    Diabetes worse with Covid 19

Hi, Im currently recovering from Covid. My levels last month averaged 6-7mmol and could handle 30+ carbs per meal without a huge spike, but Covid has sent them 14+ daily. I have reduced to 10 carbs per meal, but that's not helping my levels. I'm over the virus and feel great, except for my blood...

Long Covid. A support thread for those who take a while to recover from Covid-19

Hope you feel better soon! I'm recovering from Covid as well. I will admit that it wasn't too bad for me, but my blood sugar is still out of control! I'm assuming its all the stress our bodies have been put under. We will get through this together!

    Covid elevated blood sugar

Hi, I unfortunately contracted Covid and I'm just now I'm getting over it. My blood sugar level has been elevated for about 2 weeks (since I got sick). I normally stick close to 7mmol/l fasting but its been closer 11 or 12mmol/l every day. Have been shooting for less than 20 carbs a meal to...

    Coming off all medication!!

Just to give an update. It has now been almost 3 months of no medication. I am still maintaining around a 30 average, only slightly increased without the metformin. I have learned a lot about my particular problem now that I dont have medication helping me. The first and biggest is that I am...

Fast weight loss but blood glucose static.....

Meat and green vegetables are safe. Everything else you need to look up. For me my blood sugar builds. If its high at breakfast I cant/do not eat carbs at lunch. So it may be that single potato can affect you for the whole day, especially if your blood sugar does not come down before eating again.

    Light-headed, Ketones and T2....

Well it is possible that the wrap had some vegetable that had a unique smell. Asparagus makes urine smell funny as do a few others. So it may not be keytones at all. The best way to check is to buy keytone strips. They are cheap and will let you know instantly.

I have some to take if it does start to rise. I only see a slight increase after a week of no medication. I'll just have to keep an eye on it.

    Coming off all medication!!

I have some good news to share! Through dieting and exercise i have been able to reduce my weight and A1C from 12.5% to 4.9% and have held that for several months. My doctor wants to see what happens if I stop taking the meformin (1000mg/day). I don't know if I'll be able to permanently be able...

Question about Aspartame and type 2 diabetes?

Your body can't process aspartame like it does sugar, so it is unlikely. My blood sugar did the same thing when I was diagnosed. The doctor told me it was like a roller coaster, you build slowly but once things start going over the tipping point it can get out of hand quick. I would look more...

    worried/ lots of questions

I was diagnosed with an A1C of 113. 5 months later and I was back down to a 30. My vision did fluctuate a little in the process, but returned back to normal. Extra sugar in the blood causes the blood vessels in the eye to swell. Once you get your levels lined out it should return to normal. Also...

Help! Been diagnosed as a type 1 for 10 years but now they think I'm a type 2?!

Well there is a major difference in type 1 and type 2. Type 1 means no insulin is made by the body, and type 2 is where you are resistant to the insulin that your body makes. Its hard to believe that you have been misdiagnosed for so long. I would think about a second opinion. Do you take...

Not losing weight. Advise needed please

If your weight hasn't changed in months then you have reached homeostasis with your diet. You will have to modify it a little more to see more results either by cutting calories and carbs or exercising more. I have found that skipping meals will actually freak my body out and my blood sugar...

    Food in General

I have found that eating carbs with protein helps keep the spike lower. I would drop the cereal for breakfast because its not that nutritious anyway. Then enjoy the Balti with naan, I definitely wouldn't do both in a day. Ultimately its what makes you happy balanced with what makes you healthy...

    Almost back to normal!

Last year I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. At the time I was a little overweight and didn't watch my diet. At the time of diagnosis I had a spike of over 550mg/dl (27.7mmol/L) and my A1C was 12.5%! The doctors were a little worried because I didn't have any other signs, I was fairly...
