    Honeymoon phase

I was diagnosed with Type 1 May 2019 and I'm still in my honeymoon phase. There's been some signs where I've thought that I'm out of it but nope. Still going strong a year later ha ha

    Returning back to work

Yeah same. The statistics are too high to just risk it and go back. I've only been out to exercise during this lockdown. My Husband has been doing the food shop etc so I don't have to. Seems silly to just now go back to work!

    Returning back to work

I'm in a similar situation. I work in a primary school and have been off with a Dr's note which is expiring on the 12th. I asked my nurse for advise on returning and she asked my specialist who asked my specialist and he gave the go ahead to be back in a classroom which I thought was strange. I...

    Type 1 and Teacher

Thank you! 1 whole year! And yeah I'm just gonna see how it goes really. And regarding the sinusitis I've had 2 lots of antibiotics but it just keeps coming and going. Very annoying! But my boss seems very understanding as there are a few others needing to social distance with asthma etc. We'll...

    Type 1 and Teacher

Yeah I had asked last week after reading about the new statistics. I was honestly expecting them to say stay at home as when all this shielding stuff came out I never got a letter but when I asked my nurse she said yes I'm in that group of people. My specialist said there's not enough advice to...

    Type 1 and Teacher

I work in a primary school as a 1 on 1 TA and just before the lockdown I contacted a Dr who told me I should be working from home for 12 weeks which is due to end soon. I contacted my nurse who then contacted my specialist to find out what I should do regarding returning to work and I was told...

    Libre sensor tape?

I was looking at that last night. I think I've placed my sensor in an awkward part of my arm as it seems to be lifting up at the sides. I think it'll last the next week. I should maybe get some in case. Thanks

    Libre sensor tape?

Hi. I've just been given the go ahead for Libre funding which I am super happy about. I've done a 2 week trial previously and now I have started my actual prescription. I'm just wondering what people use to keep it stuck down? I was really careful when I had my trial and it never came off but...

    Running as a Type 1

At the minute I'm just running 3 miles as I've just upped it from 2 miles. My main aim at first was running 1 mile in a decent time and then once I was happy with that my Husband suggested running further so I am upping my mileage once I am comfortable and can do it easily. A diary is a good...

    Running as a Type 1

At the minute I just have 3 units of Toujeo and then 1 unit of NovoRapid with breakfast and 2 units with dinner and tea (sometimes 3 if my levels are above 10) but I'm still in the honeymoon stage. I was on more insulin but I keep having hypos so trying to adjust until I'm out of it. I find...

    Running as a Type 1

Hi, I've been a Type 1 since May this year. I've always been active, I currently do pole dancing which I've done for a few years and I've started running again since finding out I'm Diabetic. I've been thinking about working towards doing a half marathon. I'm just wondering if anyone here has...

    Mental Health Rant

Is it normal to feel guilt too? I feel really guilty for worrying people like my Husband and my Mum? My Children are too young to properly understand but I feel really bad for bringing it into the Family (even though I know I haven't done anything to cause this)

    Mental Health Rant

Yeah I think people just assume because you're dealing well with injecting yourself and that side of things that you must be dealing with it mentally? But it's so much more than that!

    Mental Health Rant

Thanks, I've only been married since last October so it's still quite fresh ha ha. Weird to think I was possibly diabetic at the wedding but didn't know! And yeah I like I can talk to people on here as I don't want to hassle people and be annoying when people don't understand fully!

    Mental Health Rant

Yeah mine was brushed aside at first and was told I was losing weight because "this is what you do, this is just you" and was told to go on antidepressants again which delayed things further! I think that has freaked me out a lot too as I thought I was having a breakdown!

    Mental Health Rant

I'm still new to being a Type 1 Diabetic, I got diagnosed in May this year. I've always struggled with my mental health since I was diagnosed with OCD and anxiety when I was 7. Leading up to my T1 diagnosis my mental health got worse and now I find I seem to have more bad anxious depression...

    Newly Diagnosed

Yeah I've got the head of the practise' name so that I can complain. When I told my Mum both her and her fiance was like right that's not on we need to complain! Now I have adjusted and calmed down I definitely will complain as I thought I was having a breakdown and was made to feel like I was...
