    Christmas Treats?

Hi, I make a lentil pancake that I use as pancake, wrap, lentil noodles (cut into strips ) if you are interested. It is my only success at making low carb wraps. Let me know if you want the recipe.

Just a tad out of my budget

    What do we think?

I received an email, in light of previous answers also, I suspect that the comma was in the wrong place, but it definitely reads £79 as per photo on my phone. If there is a disease, there is money to be made.

    What do we think?

I have just seen advertising for AMU non invasive glucose meter, available September 22. As far as I can see £79. A good idea? A scam? If genuine would it be as good as getting a drop of blood results? If genuine a good investment given the price of testing strips and lancets. So what does the...

    Would this work and how?

Hello all. Rumour has it that the new Apple 7 watch (no date as yet) will have a glucose monitor. Obviously this has peaked my interest but I wonder if any of you have heard anything. Is it even true and how would it work? Curious type 2.

Don't involve yourself in the blame game.

Well said, blame is a pretty useless tool in the fight against DM2. We all have to deal with the facts. Nearly two years after diagnosis I find the overwhelming feeling I have is anger. In my opinion I am doing ok hba1c was 94 now 48, and I would like to think I have a fairly good understanding...

    Tada!

Thank you all. My husband tries his best to be happy for me but if I say 47 to him his eyes glaze over. Thank God for you guys, great to be understood without having to explain. Virtual hugs and high fives

    Tada!

Hi all, hope you are all safe and keeping well. Having had my latest blood test, I am wallowing in my little bubble of happiness. I am confined but floating on air with my Hba1c of 47. Having started at 94 after a random blood test and no symptoms 18 months ago I have knocked it down 63/50/48...

    Shingles

Thank you all for your support. My husband is very good at looking after me but feels so useless when he sees me in pain. I now understand how my mother accidentally overdosed on codeine when she had shingles, I feel quite ready to swallow the whole box myself. The pain is unbelievable.

    Shingles

They are HUGE . first doctor I saw said it was an infected follicle, with the amount of pain I had I knew it wasn’t. Second day and double the rash it was recognised for what it was. I have heard so much of “you must be careful about XYZ with your diabetes” I wondered if we were more likely to...

    Shingles

Hi, it is irrelevant now to know if Type 2 people are more susceptible to shingles because now I have got both. My query is that I am taking masses of meds on top of my regular ones and I am a bit concerned about the effect on my dm. Of course my health professionals know my situation and would...

Never mind what happened to the cat, I am curious

I have had hit and miss experiences with low carb baking. I am a good cook and so given to experimenting. I do like the tower of cheeses, it looks fabulous.

Never mind what happened to the cat, I am curious

hi to all, doing ok latest hba1c 48 on minimum metformin, weight stable at a satisfactory level so pretty much ticketyboo. However, big birthday coming up. Obviously this will involve food (i have never drank alcohol so when GP says you must drink less, no can do ). Back to food. I have in mind...

    A year on

Thank you for the encouragement. I don’t know if I can lose more weight but aiming to maintain anyway and my DM nurse is well happy to have a motivated patient. I skipped denial and went straight to action. From personal experience you stick your head in the sand you get your backside kicked. I...

    A year on

Hi, I have been reading this for a while but just now posting. Out of the blue, no symptoms of any kind Hba1c 94. What? Steep learning curve from now on on. I was so angry (still am) and decided I would not let diabetes win. After some ups and a lot of downs, one year on I have lost 15kgs...
