    Switching from Humalog to Lyumjev

Hi, everyone. This morning I went to my endocrinologist annual check and she told me I can get Lyumjev instead of Humalog, as it is faster and should be easier to manage. I handled Humalog quite well (TIR 2 96 2 and hba1c 5.5%) so didn't feel I need a change, but still think it might be useful...

Running abdomen pain side stitch in the afternoon

Hi, I've been running for 4-5 years now gradually increasing my weekly distances. Now I'm comfortable with 25k a week. I don't get too tired or spend too much time with 25. I think I'll stick to it, although it is getting pretty hot now, so I'll probably do more swimming... I've started...

smoking cessation (I feel like I'm losing it)

Hi everyone, I decided to give up smoking 75 days ago, it is the first time I went past the first 3 days. When I was hospitalized for T1 I managed to get some tobacco on day 3 in the hospital... Feeling quite good after first week went past, up until a few weeks ago when I just got...

    Libre 2 reader

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well. I have a libre 1 currently and am happy with it. I like using a reader and not the phone. I don't feel like being that dependent to phones and the reader is much smaller and I can use it without fiddling, just has one button. They will start giving us...

    Vintage glucose meter

Hi everyone hope you are all doing well. I was just wondering if any of you ever used this kind of meter? It is from the 1930s, so maybe too old for first hand experience. :borg: I'm just curious on how it works, it is interesting It is called a Carl Zeiss Ikon D and it is for sale on...

    Little cousin (13) a new type 1

Hi, everyone. I was diagnosed just a year ago with type 1. Unfortunately my wife's little cousin (he's almost 13) has been diagnosed with T1 just a few days ago after the usual symptoms. He is still in the hospital but BG is OK now, feels well now and together with his parents he's starting the...

    Potato carb amount

Hi, I have weighted 200g of raw potatoes, according to the internet potatoes should have around 18g of carbs in 100g . So it all should be somewhere around 35-40g. I will cook and mash them... 3 units should cover 40g usually for me. Is this calculation ok or I'm missing something, I'm asking...

How many hypos a week do you have?

Hi, I just had a hypo, nothing spectacular, just ate some dextrose and 2 plums so it's going up again :) It got me wondering how many hypos do you (fellow T1s) experience? Libre says I had 33 in last 30 days and 70 in 90 days, is that way off? I've been swimming every day in August, so usually...

    Common cold and diabetes

Hi, I caught a cold, it happens a bit more often since I'm diabetic... Last time 2 months ago. I remember when being non diabetic whenever I had a cold I would be hungry all the time, so I would simply eat all the time... Usually craving for some toast sandwiches, or any kind of bread :)...

    Libre persuasion :)

I want to persuade a friend to get a Libre, as it is a great piece of tech and much better than strips... She can get it for free, just like me from the insurance, but doesn't want to, I can't understand why. She says it's too complicated to use it, or she'll know too much or similar...

Is this right? (hypos and insulin)

I always try to eat dinner at 7 so the insulin stops working at 11 or close. I feel pretty relaxed when having 5-6mmol reading before bed, if it's lower I eat a bit. Usually my night time glucose is between 4 and 5 mmol, I sleep pretty good... I should be ok with that kind of numbers? I have...

    Nighttime lows

Hi, everyone I've been diagnosed with Lada/t1 few months ago. I'm mostly withing range during the day, but during the night after 2 o clock, my Libre says I go below 4, but not below 3mmol. Almost every night. I usually go to sleep with 6-8 mmol and take my last bolus (humalog) at 19h. I'm...

I'd like to drink a beer...

Hi, I'm newly diagnosed LADA/T1 3 months ago... I was not much of a drinker before diagnosis, but still was drinking 5-10 beers a month depending on the season :angelic: I said goodbye to beer when I first realized I had diabetes, but later I stumbled on a blog article in which a fellow T1...

Hi, new T1 or LADA here

Hi ,everyone... I was diagnosed with LADA or T1 a few months ago at 35, it was quite unexpected as I didn't feel all that bad, but it turned out my glucose was over 20, so I went to hospital treatment immediately... It seems that we all have to find our own ways of managing diabetes so it's...
