    Type 2 Hyperparathyroid

Thank you. I wasn’t sure if there would be more tests with the GP before any referral. Ironically, I am at hospital later on the same day for a follow up about a very large nodule on my thyroid which they eventually decided was not cancerous last year.

    Type 2 Hyperparathyroid

Has anyone been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and hypercalcemia? I’ve had 3 blood test in the last 5 weeks. The first my calcium level was slightly above reference and then the other 2 have crept up slightly each time. They have checked the parathyroid hormone level and that is also over range...

    Blood test results

Thank you. I know I should be pleased but every time I deal with one thing another problem pops up. I feel like I’m on some kind of hamster wheel trying to keep up and it’s exhausting

    Blood test results

I know now that’s it’s very high but it didn’t mean anything to me at the time. I couldn’t understand when I got home and tried to work out what I’d been told. My latest result is 39

    Blood test results

I have just had my blood test results back and most ok. However I have readings just over the top limits for mean cell haemoglobin, adjusted calcium concentrate and urea. My eGFR is also showing as 75 and stage 2 so this has concerned me. I already suffer from anxiety surrounding my diagnosis...

Will my next ha1c be below 48?

I dropped mine from 120 to 52 in 3 months and then to 40 another 2 months after that so you can definitely have a big drop quickly. Hope it’s good news for you

    General anaesthetic

The operation went well, thank you. Apparently the hernia was ‘industrial’ sized so quite a lot to do. Back home after 2 days and in my own bed which is so much better but missing getting coffee served every couple of hours! Expecting about 6 week recovery. They forgot about doing BG tests as...

Hi, I am having an operation later this afternoon. What should I expect about how this will affect my glucose? I’m feeling very nervous and stressed at the moment. Thank you

    Help

@Lobsang Tsultim. Thank you for your reply. I will try to gradually try small amounts of some pulses. It does make me anxious and I haven’t been able to get any help or answers from doctors. All they have said is eat what you want sometimes, but that doesn’t help. In my mind I need to understand...

    Help

@0110 I’ve mistyped this figures, I have actually gone from 120 to 40. This took 5 months with the first 5 weeks being on an incorrect dosage of metaformin. I’ve stopped taking all medication for the past 4 weeks so hoping I will be able to maintain it. I have just had some bloods taken again...

    Help

Thank you for this information. Unfortunately, I don’t eat any meat. It would be so much easier if I did. I am just doing my best to stay as low carb as I can. I’m managing this at home but don’t feel able to go out to eat with friends as all veggie meals are based around carbs.

    Help

Thank you for your reply. I know I should be able to ignore the opinions of others but I’m finding that difficult as it’s those very close to me and the implied opinion of the doctor. In respect of going forward, I know I will never be able to eat as I did before. Food is causing me huge...

    Help

I’ll apologise first for the long post. I was diagnosed almost 6 months ago with HbA1c of 120. My GP sent me away with no information other than this was mild and not reversible. I was devastated by this as my only symptom was being tired and I thought it was long Covid. He told me to come back...
