I went to chiquitos a couple of weeks ago and asked in store for the nutritional information and the staff were lovely. It is available online apparently but they helped me choose a suitable meal for my daughter who has a dairy allergy and they gave me the carb info on my meal.
Maybe call them...
I'll try not to snack, I'm a grazer though - every 2-3 hours I'm eating crackers or something.
I'll aim for 3 meals and a light supper.
Thanks for the link, I've had a read through the carb counting but and gave planned a brekkie of 15g carbs so will do 1 unit. Or should I round it up...
Thanks, I'll start tomorrow and give it a few days, I'm still in honeymoon so my levels are a little unpredictable.
Should I inject for snacks also or just keep snacks under 10g carbs?

Hi all,
I have recently started insulin and have been told I can try carb counting. I'm gonna start in a 1:10 ratio but had some questions.
Should the ratio vary throughout the day?
If I eat a meal of 17 carbs do I round up or down?
Thanks.
Sarah

I have started this today, just completed Level 1.
Has anyone tried this workout? Did you get results?
I'm having a carby snack after the workout, is this ok or is it bad for my sugars?
TIA,
Sarah

Thank you Brett and Daibell. It was just the speed at which I had gone from 5's after meals (last week) and now regularly in the 8's.
You're right though, could be years!

I was diagnosed with GD when pregnant with my baby girl in 2012, when she was born I was retested and told I was more likely to be LADA.
Although my GAD levels were extremely high, my bloods were generally good and it was usually my fasting that was a problem.
In the last few days, my after...
What are your GAD levels? What is a normal level?
Was told today mine are at 2000 which is very high.
Any advice?
Thanks.

Make sure your DSN knows that you're planning to get pregnant, they'll make sure you're as healthy as possible to ensure that you and baby (when you get pregnant) are both safe.
You need to take extra Folic Acid I think so they'll be able to sort out your prescription via your doctors.
Good...
My last school collected my test strip containers and asked for donated film strip containers and similar. They would use them to hold the chemicals when the students built their own volcanos in geography. They don't do it now but it was a good way to re-use them.
I'm sure schools and...
I thought the same but apparently t1 can come on at any age and is a more sudden degeneration.
First I had heard of it too!

Hi SpaceChick.
I was diagnosed type 1.5 13 months ago. I am on diet control only.
At my last check up - a couple of weeks ago, I was told that my antibodies are really high and I should be I'll but I'm not. They now don't know if I'm t1.5 or t1.
It really just depends on your own progress...
I agree Elaine. It's also very scary, knowing that this is hanging over you and there's nothing you can do. I think Mo might be right - it probably is easier to control on Insulin.
Just feels like a time bomb and I can't make out the countdown timer.
Elaine - how often are you testing your...
So I met with my care team today. Safe to say - no-one knows what is going on. My HBa1c was 40? (5.8) so that's ace, my antibodies are really bad. They can't predict when it will get worse, just that it will get worse.
Anyone been in a similar situation?
Been classed as LADA but on diet...
