Wow, well done, really pleased for youHad my review with nurse today. HbA1c is 30. Total Cholestrol is 5.7, HDL 1.7, LDL 4 and TRI is 0.5. Feet checked out ok and eyes were ok when checked last. Weight is 81 kg (12.7 stone). Waist down to 34 now.
Now i got the update out the way i want to say thank you to a great forum. Support and information from here has helped me get where i am right now as i didnt have a clue what to do when i found out .
Dropping in every day to post monring bloods has helped me stay on track. Watching everyone trying to get through the day has made me realise how lucky i am with a few changes made a big difference and i dont have to fight with my bloods every day trying to keep them low like a lot of the members here do
Only verbal complement i had from surgery was from the nurse this morning who said i done brilliant and wished all her patients were as good as me. They will see me every 6 months now so i just got to keep doing what i am doing and not fall off the wagon.
Was loosing to much weight on 20 grams or less of carbs (went down to 11 stone 10) so had to up my carbs to 40-50 grams a day to try and put a bit of weight back on without messing my blood sugars up. I look a bit healthier now but turned into a boney boy at one point. I have noticed when i get hungry now my bloods are usualy at 4.5 so i have a meaty top up and am good to go for a bit then.

They do complain of hunger and lack of energy (we are in week 5) still and I feel as if they are still scared of topping up on more meat/fish /eggs etc/ What should I tell them ?

I like this approach for a bunch of people who do seem to have a 'pudding compartment' thing going on !I like the "hard boiled eggs" hunger killer.
Get them to boil at least 6 eggs and put them in the fridge, then when they feel hungry to eat an egg. If they are still hungry eat another egg and so on. If they can't eat an egg than its not physical hunger, it's emotional, or timed, or craving etc
If they eat eggs and are satisfied that's OK.
After just a few days of this, they learn to eat to hunger, to learn what is emotional hunger etc and eventually won't need eggs in the fridge, becuase just the idea of them is enough.
No damage, no heart attacks, no weight gain because its only for a week or so.
It worked for me.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions!I have always tryed to get fatty cuts of meat, like chops with as much fat around it as possible, mince with more than 15% fat (25% fat if you can handle it), cuts of steaks with fat on are usualy cheaper as well. Angus beef burgers from icelands, pork sausages, bacon etc. Cathedral mature chedder cheese got no carbs in it but lots of fats and protiens. When you go low carb you need more fats in your daily diet. I used a keto calculator when i started

Always found getting enough fats the hard part but eggs have a good mix of proteins and fats. Tryed adding double cream into my coffee a few times a day but didnt work for me as i started spending a bit of time in the toilet .

I am in here daily looking for idears to make my dinner plate a bit more exciting than 2 pieces of gammon and no brocclli ias i could not be bothered to cook it again
