hi all,

3 weeks ago I visited my GP with what I thought was a urine infection as I was weeing loads (13+ times a day. Anyway long story short my Glucose blood reading was 23 even though I felt great. I have lost 2 stone in 12 months but put this down to my under active thyroid medication(levothyroxine). I then had the fasting test with the sugar drink and the GP says I am Type 2 but maybe 1.5?!

I have been put on 1 metformin tablet a day and have taken the advise on the forums and have cut out the sugar and gone low carb. My readings have massively improved since I started test 6 times a day to see how each food affects me. My average readings are:-
last 30 days 7.3
last 14 days 6.8
last 7 days 6.3(get in!!)

over the last 3 days pre food I am only just over 5 and after food about 6-7max

When I see the specialist I am going to ask what type I am and how will they prove what type I am. Presumably a blood test of some sort??

I eat a snack every time I get to 5 as I drive for a job but I wonder how low I would go because I feel fine at 5

I would like to get rid of the metformin if possible but do not know if this would be sensible early on

before I went on metformin and after my bowel habits are now every 2 days whereas it was twice a day for most of my life. Don't know if I should be worried about this but I am!

Finally bearing in mind the above any suggestions of what I should ask at this 1st meeting are most welcome.

thank you
