2016/17 Football Season

Yeah that was bad luck for Carlisle

We slaughtered Portvale nice easy 4-0 win and in the hat for 4th round draw on Monday evening. Wondering if we can be so lucky as to draw someone like Chelsea or Arsenal at home.

Very impressive that you beat Euro stars Porto and beat them well

Preston were impressive against Arsenal. Grayson is a great manager. Their no 4 (Pearson?) was man of the match for me. Glad we finally won through, but they gave us a good game.

We've drawn Rochdale at theirs. Should beat them and go in the hat for 5th round draw but you never know with the Town.

Former England manager Graham Taylor has died at the age of 72.

As a club manager, he led Watford from the Fourth Division to runners-up in the old First Division in six seasons and to the final of the 1984 FA Cup.

He guided Aston Villa to second in the First Division, returning to Watford and Villa after his England stint as well as managing Wolves.

He became England boss in 1990 but resigned in 1993 after the team failed to qualify for the 1994 World Cup.

Following his spell with England, Taylor returned to club management and also became a renowned pundit for BBC Sport.

RIP Graham

Graham RIP!

We played Watford at the end of his managerial career, at the end of one season. Roughly fifteen years ago!
The reception he received from both sets of supporters at the end of the game was exceptional.
Much derided in the press especially the red tops.
He was a brilliant coach and manager. Not many English coaches left as good as him.
A sad loss to Watford and football!

"Do I not like that", etc. etc.

Very sad: I never thought he got a proper chance to show his worth, though he shot himself in the foot by agreeing to be followed around by TV cameras, with inevitable consequences.

A decent man.

On a happier note, Saints beat Liverpoo 1-0 last night in the first leg of the EFL Cup, or whatever it's called this week.

Whether that's enough to ensure they prevail in the second leg, at Anfield, remains to be seen

Sky sports news defo didn't like you beating them!

The item was very small and they decided to go with them taking man u to the cleaners on Sunday during the Manchester, Liverpoo super Sunday!
Honestly, no one else is playing, no Saturday games!
The dominance of Liverpoo news dwarfs every other club!

Who you all got this weekend?

Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Going to be a tough one as they are right behind us by 4 points. They beat us at our place in September. Time for revenge. UTT

Good to Luck to you and everyone else. Hope all get a win

Home today against Morecambe
Not sure which way this will go

Spanked them 3-0 down there but we're a bit off form at the mo

And we lose 2-0 Had a man sent off as well. Still we are in 5th place so not so bad.

Carlisle scraped a draw better than losing.
Noshers team obviously having a rest.

Sounded like a hard fought battle with Morecambe with some tasty tackling from both teams

Tough one Johnboy soz fella

How come we can beat Liverpoo 1-0 but lose by the same margin to Burnley? Burnley, for God's sake .

Saints really need to snap out of it; grrrrrrr...................
