3 months on - first repeat hbA1c results since diagnosis - Metformin & diet results

That's really great and it helps so much when people recognise just what an achievement you've made, she sounds like a great person.

When I dropped down to 38 I had moved house so didn't see my old Diabetic nurse. I had my bloods taken at my new GPs and found the result myself on the NHS app - the diabetic nurse didn't even mention it just said I needed to keep a tight control on it - she was nice enough but didn't seem very impressed, haha. She weighed me and said I was 13 stone 6 so I told her I had got down from 20 stone 5. She just said "oh, ok". Then about 10 minutes later while she was going through my info on her PC she said "oh, you really were 20 stones two years ago" in a tone which suggested she hadn't believed me when I had told her. I was a bit deflated, haha.

Oh this is disappointing! It's hard I guess when the person you see doesn't understand your history and the progress made. A number of 47 wouldn't be something they would be so excited about if they didn't understand where I was a few months ago. I was glad they made the effort to encourage me, it really makes a difference.

Funnily the only people who have congratulated me are the people on this forum and I really appreciate it, friends and family don't really understand the scores etc. and I don't really mention it to people in real life.

However, I am still flabbergasted that you have gone from 107 to 47 in 6 months, that really is amazing and bodes so well for your future. It took me two years to go from 110 to 48 and I always thought I was doing really well. I think you're fantastic for achieving it, I really do and it's not often I am so impressed.

Thank you! Your achievement is huge as well, and I know how much work it takes. Fingers crossed for our futures and enjoy your canary island holiday soon

Absolutely fantastic - you are making brilliant progress. CGMs can be really useful in helping understand what is making your BG go up, especially after such a shock diagnosis. Keep it up and you will get an even better result next time.

Many congratulations! amazing numbers can I ask how long a period was your toe wound? Thank you.

I got a blister in march, it got infected and I got cellulitis. It just didn't heal fully, kept having a slight opening now and again that would bleed. I saw the podiatrist in June who referred me to the GP for an a1c test. I am also hyper mobile so they do think it was impacted by that as well.
