Hba1c Now in the Normal Range

I saw the Diabetes Nurse today and got the good news that my Hba1c has gone from 66 (this time last year) to 39 today. I am so pleased and I am determined to continue eating low carb and to lose the rest of the weight (still quite a bit) to get down to a healthy BMI. When I first was diagnosed...

    HBA1C Result

Good Afternoon All I was pre-diabetic up until May 2021 when my HBA1C jumped to 50. It was still 50 in July 2021 and I've just had November's back as 46 (Provisional and needs a diabetic nurse review). I've been on Metformin 2 500 tablets a day and I started Ozempic 0.5 in September 2021 and...

Does high red blood count affect hbA1C

Hi All, Just got a1c results and they were higher than expected. I use a CPAP machine and have an abnormally high haemoglobin count due this. As its the glycated haemoglobin that is measured to get the hbA1C, I wonder if anyone knows how a high haemoglobin count might affect the hba1c result.

    Good news are always welcome

3 months have passed since my diagnosis. I was admitted to the hospital with an astonishing 14.3% HbA1C. I had a new blood test last week, I received the results, and my A1C is 5.9%, which is - I would say - beyond perfect. I hope I can keep this value for a long time! Cheers!

Hi, After a first diagnosis based on an oral glucose test value of 12 .1, my Hba1c was 45. Weight loss of 16 kilos led 1.5 year later to an Hba1c of 44.,Thus stayed like this for 4 years. Now last July a surprising 48. My reaction was quite resigned, I didn’t change that much but my result...

    Lacking motivation Hba1c 103

I've always struggled with accepting my condition ever since I was diagnosed and I've had some awful experiences with my medical team which have furthered these negativities. I thought I had conquered this in achieving a Hba1c of 44 but went off the rails again and my Hba1c is back up at 103...

Thank you - my story in the Daily Mail

Once again I am indebted to the advice I received from the forum in January. As I posted last week, my HBA1C has gone from 61 to 39, my cholesterol from 8.7 to 5.9, my liver results are normal and my IBS has completely disappeared. From the forum I was put in touch with the Daily Mail and it...

    Amazing blood results today

I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in January. My HBA1C was 61. I had evidence of a fatty liver and my cholesterol had been high for years. I originally took dietary advice from the practice nurse. I was advised the usual plate system with eating starchy carbohydrates such as she said...

    My first three month review...

I'm so happy I could burst! Can't contain it..! I felt so unwell for so long before my diagnosis, I put it down to being of a certain age and just having more off days than good days. So when I had my initial blood test, it came as a relief, so to speak, that there was a reason. Three...

    Numbness & tingling - fingers & hands?

Hi all, any experience from anyone who’s had this would be welcome. When I wake up at night or in the morning, my hands feel numb & swollen, and my fingers tingle and I struggle to grip for any length of time (including my smartphone—Sacre bleu!). The numbness mostly wears off but the tingling...

    Libre results consistently out

I have been on Libre for more than 4 years now with varying success. My last 4 sensors have been reading 2.5-3 mmol/l below my bg results 10min prior. I presume it's been like this for a while as my HbA1c came in around 2.5-3 above my Libreview predicted HbA1c Has anyone else experienced...
