Hey everyone ,

Hope your all doing well .

Just curious really to see if this happened to anyone else around this time (35 weeks ) , I'm hypoing a lot before my meals and can't keep snacking all the time driving me mad , so I'm going to change my doses of insulin and go from there .
Has anyone noticed or experienced this further on in pregnancy I just thought they would of gone to the higher ends of targets rather than lower ?

I can always ring my Dsn and I have an appointment with them soon , but just wanted to hear from people who have actually experienced this ?

Thank you. :) x

Hi. I had the same thing. Adjust your dosing but keep a really close eye on things. If you continue needing to reduce your amounts due to hypos let your team know as this can be a sign of falling pregnancy hormone (normal but a sign they might need to keep a closer eye on you and bump). Hope you get things sorted out, my levels settled again after a few days on the new insulin amounts. Xxx

I'm not at 35 weeks yet, but I did check my Think Like A Pancreas book yesterday as I've just had to put my insulin up again. The author has a graph showing the increasing insulin needs in pregnancy. He said it can reach a max at 36 weeks and then stay pretty much the same until delivery. The only drop he showed was the big one after delivery. Have you put your doses up recently? Could it be just a tiny bit too much insulin?

But, as JessP said, do keep an eye on it. My consultant said I should watch out for a sudden increase in hypos or drops in the amount of insulin I need and contact the hospital if that happened.

I hope the DSN can put your mind at rest, but it never does any harm to phone and speak to people. My consultant also told me to phone if I got less movements. Thats what the team is there for - to help and to put your mind at rest. I'm a worrier anyway, so I'd always phone and ask rather than worry unnecessarily. Most of the time things are fine, but it's nice to get that reassurance.

Take care xx
