4mm sets/cannulas

Has anybody used these?

Does anybody (like me) wish they could get them?

My consultant suggested 4mm but the Insught pump only has 6mm steels... I'm trying to persuade accuchek that 4mm should be available. Then consultant suggested I put some fat on!

Does anybody use them? Does anybody else wish they were available?

As I have no fat I find 6mm can hit bad spots easier. This morn put in set in non existant love handles. 4.8 when put in. 7.2 an hour later. Set started to itch whilst gardening outside... Three hours after putting in I was 19.9....

Took set off and its from a new box but all the glue area was bright red... But not a painful set slthough I started to feel it twitching...

Unfortunately Insight pump has a completely non compatible to other tubes fixing some am restricted to 6mm with them unless I can persuade them to make 4mm.
 
I know... Its why I'm trying to say to Accuchek that one size doesn't fit all.

Surely if they can do needles 4mm length thenthey should be able to do cannulas??
 
Hi DD I've been using 6mm Rapids since starting on insight as tenders aren't available and wow I've found these brilliant so comfortable I've always used 17mm tenders being a bit of a chubby waist type of guy but I'm happy with the 6mm. Also I was rescribed disposable syringes with short and long acting insulin 4mm needles, bloody eck "even better" so I totally understand your predicament being so lean

If you were to get a petition or needed a letter writing to Accu-Chek I would gladly give my full support in this.
 
Crikey never thought you would be a convert!!!

So 4mm are good for a "chubby waist of guy". I wondered whether they would be so good for persons with more skin cover, so it seems they are?

I sent an email to them so if anybody else could it would be brilliant.

I am very lean and no fat and there are others like me that would like and need 4mm steel cannulas.

Please can I suggest this as an idea to make 4mm sets? 4mm injections are available. So why not sets?

The poor chap (not my usual chap on Friday) that I spoke to himself said that one size doesn't fit all.

I'm sure my normal guy at Accuchek feedsback ok and gets reactions... He did get separate 100mm tubes supplied for the 6mm sets.
 
Can't see why Roche can't make an adapter so any cannula can be used. Medtronic do

Thank you. Very much appreciated. I hope that 4mm may become available to Accucek users. They would certainly help me and I'm sure children would appreciate shorter cannulas too.

Have just sooken to Accuchek as my normal lovely chap is back today.
He is going to dpeak to global marketing and assures me that if there aren't plans for 4mm sets that he will put forward my request. However, I am just one patient... So unless others want shorter than 6mm and take the time out to request them then it will get nowhere.

He knows me so well and knows how particular I am at looking after myself that he knows I wouldn't request something unless there was a reason for it.

I'm also going to write a letter to the Global Martketing Dept myself after I have spoken to my consultant and ex Accuchek rep (but now) DSN tomorrow.

Chap at Accuchek says I shouldn't have to put fat on to have comfortable good sets.
