Hi, hope you are well! Been on the Medtronic 780g for 3 weeks. Changed the Simplera sensor today, after the 2 hour warm up the sensor read 21.1 I did 3 BG tests and I was 14.1. I kept putting in the BG readings manually, but it keeps reverting to a higher reading. Now showing 18 on the smart guard. Concerned it will auto correct the higher reading. Any thoughts. TIA

It might be possible that an earlier BG test would have been nearer to the Simplera’s . owing to the time lag.
I’m not using the Simplera yet, but if it’s anything like the G the results should soon be more aligned as SmartGuard takes effect.

Dexta , thanks for your reply, I’m hoping it’s just a bedding in issue. Before the Simplera I was on the Guardian and the Libre before that. The first Simplera were spot on. Have to see if it Syncs.

Sensors can take up to 24 hours to bed in with readings so checking against a meter is going to have some anomalies to start, then there's the 20 min lag against sensor vs actual too, I tend to just accept the first 24 hours as a wobble before looking seriously at inaccuracies.

The first 19 or so hours can be a bit out on sensors

You will get small corrections, but what you will find is as the bg gets lower the gap will close up

Also you should not really try to calibrate when levels are high as this can cause issues with accuracy at lower level

Any calibration with a larger change will more than likely be rejected as the pump will assume an error with with entry

It’s would be wise to wait at least 8 hours before calibration and ideally with a bg below 7
