I was diagnosed in Dec 17 as pre diabetic. Since that time i have been eating low carb and very quickly got my blood regulated and felt lighter and better.
Today however I done a random blood test @ 11:00 and it read 8.2!
I haven’t eaten since yesterday at 19:00 pm.
Can anyone shine a light as to why it would be so high?

Possibly the dawn effect? Your liver wakes up in the morning and pumps out sugar so that you're ready to go out and chase down an antelope or whatever....

Couple of things spring to mind.
It's a one off, did you test again to confirm nothing was wrong with the first test? This can go a bit... what if the second test is well different from the first... n=2 is nearly as bad as n=1 when they are different.... which can lead to a third test... I've been there a number of times.
Did you wash your hands and dry them on a clean towel?
How have your morning readings been in general? This question relates to morning liver dumps, your liver may have decided that things were getting a bit low and decided to add a shot of Glu to the blood stream.
Hope this helps.

Maybe a blip. Sometimes the meters can throw a curve ball. Keeps you on your toes. Good luck. You will win

5.4 now, which is an hour later. Does this make sense? was it just a blip?
It makes sense to me. Some weeks ago I got a reading of 16.something. Within one minute I checked again and it was back to normal, but I was as surprised as you are.

Rogue readings. They sure keep us on our toes!

lets go for both.... lets be greedy

Sounds very much like a rogue test.. we all have them.. I have seen a few 8's and 9's probably due to food on the fingers..
Retest and its in the 5's..
