I don't know who posted about these but thank you. I hadn't tried these before, but now keep one in my desk drawer in case I need a snack (and don't eat a full one all at once.

However, you are responsible for me spending £7 on these yesterday in Asda!!!

Whats the carb/fiber count for these bars? Can't see it on the website

Thanks lovinglife. How does 17.2 g per bar (50 g) qualify as low carb ? That's almost 2/3 of my daily allowance.

I was shocked when I read the carbs on Ryvita ... not missing it though ... always thought it resembled something from a book binders shop.

A Google search says they contain Cane Sugar,Golden Syrup & Honey depending on the flavour of the bars.

hi I did post about these a while back, though probably on a Coeliac thread. The original is 50g and 14.6 carbs. The flaxseed bar is slightly higher in carbs and they also make a peanut bar and a pumpkin seed bar. lovely tasting seeds, a bit pricy though, but Asda do offers on these bars at times, buy 2 for £1 :) also Tesco do a pack of four, but slightly smaller bar size A real treat for me :) pleased you enjoy them, do you test your BS, and what effect do they have on you? with best wishes.

I only eat 1/2 bar at a time, a lot better than some other options, and filling too.

The don't have any, can eat 1/2 bar, meat, and yoghurt and berries for lunch and still be 5-6 at dinner time .

I used to love 9 bars but the longer I was diabetic the higher the BS spike they caused - I can't go near them nowadays

Hello to all, I will have to try theses bars as a special snack for some time treat, and at half a bar for testing and I like to try new foods, ttfn

That was my fiirst reaction too,and it put me off! I checked on the Tesco site, and they claim that the peanut and pumpkin versions are around 11-12g carbs per 40 gram bar - the others i think were definitely more. So I reckoned I could possibly try one of the seed or nut ones as the carby part a meal and see what happened spike wise. But then since the offer code wasn't recognised I decided fate was trying to tell me something and gave up bothering!! I reckon we're often being taken for gullible fools though when it comes to "low carb" products.

I don't low carb, but these are definitely not in that category. I have to say though that I didn't spike at all when I had one (T1 on insulin with HORRIFIC breakfast spikes usually). As it is made up of nuts and seeds it is very low GI

. As it is made up of nuts and seeds it is very low GI

I have had little success with incorporating low GI foods into my diet.
There is only one way , as far as I am concerned, a very low carb diet and a high exercise regime.

OMG I love these bars... I get hardly any spike at all - the highest I have ever spiked is 0.5 (except for the nutty or fruity ones)... I don't think that too bad. These are my treats, my substitute breakkie if I dont have time to cook... and my emergency food in case I get caught on the hop and need something to eat in a hurry.

Carbs per 50g bar
Original 14.6
Fruit 19.6
Peanut 12.7
Flax 16.8
Nutty 16.2
Pumpkin 14.2

I have the seed and peanut one ...a great snack if I need something when out walking ....or just to keep in my bag when out ....
I read about them here thank you for that :)

They're fab.
Very low GI
Extensive testing has proved that the Peanut, Indulge, Black Pepper varieties have virtually no impact on my BG. Usually less than 1 mmol/l at one hour. Less at 2 hours.

And they are delicious!

They may not be the lowest carb food available but they are definitely the lowest carb packaged snack bars available. They put Atkins bars and "protein" bars to shame. And in addition to the extensive testing by @Brunneria, they have been extensively tested by me using my Dexcom CGM and shown to have a flat (nil) blood sugar response when I eat them with pumped Humalog. Which is pretty impressive.
