hello, I have been diagnosed with a type of cranial diabetes, dreadful diuretics but I don't have the thirst. I have been put on Desmopressin but the spray makes me incredibly nauseous the tablets are a little better.. has anyone else suffered with nausea from desmopression bad enough to make them sick, if so what help you please. In my case it's the only thing that will help with the condition so I'm really at a cross roads.. any advice will be most welcome.. thank you.. Nic

Welcome to the forums @nicholasjahicks ,

I can't really help you with this so I hope that somebody on the forum can. Do you know what caused your cranial diabetes ?

Not reallly sure. I did fall over about a year before and knocked myself out for 4 minutes(so they tell me) as I hit a coach tyre with my head, fortunately not one of the wheel nuts.

@nicholasjahicks Hi :)

I think you're saying you have Diabetes Insipidus? That's a very different condition from Diabetes Mellitus,,and I'm not sure if we have any people with that condition here.

Hi @nicholasjahicks I have no experience of desmopressin but have heard it can work wonders.

Have you had other pitutary hormones checked? A bump on the head can wreck havoc with a lot of hormones. As for diabetes insipidus it usually mends itself eventually. Some extra salt may help as well. Try half a teaspoon of sea salt in a small glass of water.
