I bought 2 of these for 5 or 6 quid apiece in Homesense ( part of TK Max group) but wasnt sure how best to use them, so theyve been lurking at the back of a cupboard for a few weeks - nowI have my answer!
Grated into hot milk ( Im currently using non dairry milk but ordinary milk would be nice too, I suspect cream would be even nicer) it makes the most lovely hot chocolate drink

Excellent idea@Boo1979! I bought a bar of Montezuma's 100% recently and will definitely try that. Your mention of it with cream is giving me visions of dipping strawberries and raspberries into warm silky ,creamy choc.... mmm....

My OH just can't believe my chocolate "habit". His own habit is 2 or three treat size Crunchies, or single Twix bars a week, so hardly hard-core for someone with a natural Hba1c in the 4s.

FOr me? I have had a bar of 90% chocolate in the fridge for well over a year, with only about 2 squares grated from it (over frozen berries with cream), and when those were sighted, my OH and his brother (who was visiting) wanted some too.

I think I could be classified in the "not a big fan" of chocolate per se, but when we have guests who are having "pudding", it can be nice to join in a little and the choc adds to the aesthetic.

Chorizo crisp or crackling straw anyone?

Does it make it taste nicer?
The only time I tried 100% cocoa choc it was 'orrible..
Yes
Using it this way means you grate in as much or as little as you like and therefore have full control over how dark / bitter the resulting drink is

How about a teaspoon or two of grated chocolate (depending on your taste) hidden in the middle of a mug cake....mmmmmmm......heaven .......or sprinkled on top to create that sauce effect.........I do it with either 85% or 95% choc.:hungry:

I have been dithering about using some 100% chocolate to make a drink. I like the taste of it anyway.
