I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone on this forum. Being a newby, I've absorbed so much helpful info. I'm unable to give much back at the moment as I'm not experienced enough, but hopefully that'll change given a bit more time. Today has been the best day since I was diagnosed 7 months ago. I have made a concerted effort to reduce the carbs, I'm on about 80g per day and am now incorporating more exercise into my day. My bg readings for today have been between 5.4 and 6.4 and I test before and after each meal. I have only one more to go (before bedtime), so keeping my fingers crossed this one is good too. As it's cauli cheese tonight, I'm not expecting a spike. As I'm on mixed insulin, which I understand is not as accurate as basal/bolus, I'm thrilled to bits with my results. I accept that today's results won't be repeated every day, but it has given me the confidence to continue with what I'm doing and finally control diabetes. I hope my more positive approach, might make fellow Ds, who are struggling, realise that with some discipline they can achieve excellent results. I've surprised myself with what I can achieve, but I have to admit I'd still give anything to be non diabetic..........
