Hello everyone, I've just created this account for my Dad, as he's recently been diagnosed with Diabetes. Acct. Created in hope of learning about the disease(because his doctor didnt explain ANYTHING to us about it!!) and learning the right foods/drinks to have,...

Hi @JigLambert.52 and welcome to the forums.

Can I ask what type of diabetes your dad has and what medication he is on for it? Ideally, it would also help to know his starting hba1c (As your're in the states, it's probably a % greater than 6.5%) And is he the one born in 1952 or is that you? (My 92 year dad is T2 so I can empathise).

Lots of the T2s here control their blood sugar levels very well by reducing the carbs in their diet (as does my dad).
