A low carb question

Hi, wondered if anyone can explain what happened to me after breakfast today?
Before breakfast my bg was 7.8 (excellent for me), after breakfast of 3 egg scrambled egg and cup of black coffee, 2hr reading was 9.3?? Why would it have gone up so much after a low carb/sugar meal? Feel like I might as well go back to toast as no difference in spike

soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
Not sure, but possibly you convert protein very efficiently.
Perhaps it was on its way up as Dawn Phenomenon, when you first measured.

It could also just have been a dodgy strip for your fasting or +2 tests. I very much doubt that your eggs and coffee could have caused that increase in your reading if your other high protein meals haven't been giving you higher readings in the past.

The only thing you can do is have the same meal again and test. Certainly don't give up the low carbing on the strength of one higher than expected reading. :)

7.8 for a fasting reading may be good for you, but indicates at present poor control - fasting should be 4-7, preferably 4-6.

Most of do experience a rise in BG after food, & that comes down before the next meal.

Persevere with your low carb high fat & you should see improvements.
