This URL has been suffering latency to a high degree and definately needs a permanent solution.

Proof of this is the screen I have been getting with an increasing frequency just by clicking the refresh button after the site freezes. This error message identifies the fault lies with your servers and nothing to do with a member's computer or ISP connection:-

Error Details:

The FastCGI process has failed frequently recently. Try the request again in a while
Error Number: -2147467259 (0x80004005).
Error Description: Unspecified error
HTTP Error 500 - Server Error.
 
The forum is hit and miss nowadays, sometimes you can access it and other times you can't, the duplication of posts over the last few weeks is evident that a problem persists, definitely needs sorting asap.
 
Chrome complains that the site is too slow to respond

We're well aware of the problems and we're planning a server upgrade. You seem pretty knowledgeable on the subject Hobs, so naturally you know that it takes a lot of preparation and planning to move large sites to better servers as seamlessly as possible. I'll pass these errors on to the powers that be anyway and see what can be done in the short term.
 
Hi all - we've actually purchased another server so now we're waiting for a member of staff to come back from holiday so we can set it all up! Should all be done in the next 10-14 days!

It's hard to do that when they've already gone :lol:
 
I have to say that the forum works really well for me (IE Explorer etc) it's fast, no "hangups" just like it should be.

I suppose the server is like a tube train. At quiet times everyone can get on to complete their journey. But during peak demand time the train is full to capacity and only some can get on if a few get off.

Like waiting for buses,very slow at times,or they dont turn up.............
and then 3 come along at the same time :roll: :lol: :lol:
