"A new you in 42"

Okay - sorry Jamrox, I am about to digress from the topic of exercise again, because I really need a cyber hug from you all - even you Pipp, I just found out my cat died. Found him run over.
I'm so fed up.

Oh that's awful for you. A pet dying is one thing, when it has been killed on a road it's so much worse. Big hug from me
xx

Its awful how things like that from the past can have such a lasting effect. Or even sneak up on you when least expected. Hope you feel better now peacetrain, and get get a decent rest during school hols. How lovely that your granddaughter is so mature and caring to her mum.

You know I was just joking about the book vs hot tub don't you?! (I just suddenly thought you might have taken offence at my flippant response). I wonder how much is nurture vs nature. Is it something that you ever 'cure' yourself of, or do you just learn the tools to help you cope?

Very sorry bout your cat. What a horrible shock.
Your request for a cyber hug granted.
A big hug, and please will the rest of you join me in a group hug for Bebo321?

Thanks Pipp,
I've got tears in my eyes and feel loved.x

I have managed to get to the pool today.
25 mins swimming breaststroke
5 mins fast treading water
5 mins water running ( through deep water feet not making contact with pool floor)
It felt amazing!
No need to add my slow shuffle leaning on supermarket trolley for 20 mins then. Sorry if I get in anyones' way with my bottle of milk and cauliflower being the only things in the trolley.

...oh Bebo what a horrible shock for you, how upsetting, hugs from me too XXX

Not with a G&T in my hand. I do find it hard to sit down for any length of time now though without starting a few foot tapping, or leg lifting motions.

Haha I'm the same, I've came up stairs to catch up with corrie , I danced about drying my hair and I've been sitting on my bed doing hand jive movements and moving my legs from side to side.

Oh no thats awful . I found my neighbours ( and good friends) cat when he was run over. He was a nice cat and it was awful. I had to tell my neighbour and wrap the poor cat up in a towel.
Hope you are ok xxx hugs

thank you all for your replies. I am touched that people I have known for so short a time have taken such a caring interest in me and my troubles.
@peacetrain and @Pollylocks - I recognise a lot of my son and myself in those descriptions of your children. Similarly my son's OCD is not of the cleaning variety( he could never be diagnosed with that looking at state of his uni house bedroom) but was a variety of obsessive thoughts which consumed him for hours at a time, and became increasingly weird as he went round and round inside his own head. Luckily having OCD myself, I could recognise the symptoms as being part of an obsessive anxiety disorder and CBT has helped him enormously. We got two cats when he was first ill and he has an amazing bond with one of them which I think kept him going when things were really bad.
@Bebo321 Not sure my hyperventilation would cope with a book on steamy hot tub scenes.
@peacetrain hope you feel better. Hyperventilation is my default breathing pattern and it sucks- no wonder you felt panicky.

OK guys, I think I need to stay away from this thread because I have hurt someone who contributes to it. Sorry, @julifriend I was really immature. I am hurting right now and I took it out on you. You didn't deserve that.

I'm fine thank you - you're all so kind.
Funny, he was such an independent cat it seems wrong to say he belonged to anybody. He lived a short but amazing life - full of adventures, scrapes, lady loves and lazy days laying in stacks of sweet hay. Kind of a James Dean of cats. Gutted but kind of proud to have had him in our lives.
Oh, my hubby and I walked 40mins visiting our local farms before we finally discovered what had happened - but the exercise bit seemed kind of irrelevant.
I'm going to run the course through the mown fields tomorrow because I'm alive and I can.
Thanks again for your support. Bx

When we break up the work begins!! I have to get everything ready for the next class!! So I won't be too far from my classroom during the holidays. I'm a bit of a workaholic. I tend to make work for myself too ... Such as ensuring each tray of crayons has the same number of crayons of the same colour in them ;-). I also make sure that the coloured cubes we use in maths are not all mixed in the same basket. I limit 2 colours to each basket. The children are less likely to produce random patterns!! I like to do all my own displays too. If it's wrong it's my fault. The chairs come in three colours and I have to have them in a certain order around the tables. Oh dear ...

Lol,
I would be your worst nightmare cold ethyl - mix the crayons up, deliberately sabotage the coloured cubes - create the chaos. I learnt through painting that actually losing a bit of control can be a good thing. Somehow it came as a surprise when I first made a complete mess of a painting and the world didn't come to an end.
Go on, I dare you to mix a couple of the chairs up!
