I'm sorry but in my book not eating something that your body can't tolerate is NOT curing your body of the inability to tolerate it in the first place!!
I would define a cure for type 1 diabetes as stopping the autoimmune response and regenerating the lost beta cells so that you can eat a huge plate of chips followed by a massive chocolate cake, test 2 hours later and have the same BG as a normal person!! Oh, and making sure the autoimmune response never triggers again.....
In other words, whether it works or not, what the OP is proposing can and never will be a cure!
And Izzzi, the OP couldn't just say she had a problem with obesity even if she wanted to because if she did her posts would be removed as your not allowed to mention weight on here incase people get offended and yet I'm STILL baffled as to why the moderators feel its acceptable to allow posts to remain on here that state there is a cure for diabetes as I can't imagine anything more dangerous and damaging to a newly diagnosed diabetic than reading such utter tosh!!
Diagnosed with GD in 2010, Completely disappeared postpartum. Re-diagnosed December 2012 with type 1.5 diabetes, age 26, BMI 23 currently controlled by only Metformin, 500mg twice a day.
