A very small portion of starch..

I have been following a low carb diet for 5 months or so now. I typically eat <70g of carb per day, sometimes <50g.

In that time I have not had ANY potato, bread, pasta etc. I have lost and loads of weight and my BGs are very good.

For last couple of days, I have started having a tiny amount of rice or pasta with my normal low carb meal. By tiny I mean about a heaped tablespoon full.

I find that this really fills me up, doesn't spike my blood and makes the meal even more enjoyable. I have not had any carb cravings and do not even think I could stomach any more even if I tried.

I think I may of found the balance I should of been eating years ago!

Anyone else do similar?

I have been on reduced carbs, and eat less than 70-80g a day. I do include some though, such as like yourself, a spoonful of rice - or one potato ( very small) and find I can tolerate this.

Have not done any pasta since beginning three months ago - and I have a feeling that I could not tolerate this .... just an instinct - so am steering clear of pasta for the foreseeable future.

Good luck!

That's brilliant! Exactly how it should work - eat just as many carbs as you can tolerate. Diabetes isn't so bad after all, is it?
