A Voilà...

I went by the recommended serving suggestions.

Yeah, not enough fat on that plate for me.... personally, I have never paid any attention to recommended servings. You just got to experiment and see what works. Have enough fat on the plate, eat till full or you'll be hungry again within a short period of time. Your plate looks healthy, just lacking fat.

I agree with everyone upthread. My suggestion would be to have that meal plus a bowl of berries with Fage to get the satisfying fats in there.

As to which foods go with which, it really doesn't matter. Occasionally I may think a meal is lacking in fats so I will have a few cubes of cheese as a 'pudding' or as a starter. Convention has gone out of the window here.

Yes, convention out the window.... I like to eat the fats first, like cheese for example.... before starting on a main protein or veggies. Just slows the carb absorption rate from the veggies and the effect of protein on bg levels.

Pudding first? Good idea. I find that if I eat my steak first I'm satisfied sooner and the protein doesn't have a noticeable affect (even much later than the two hours) on my bg but I understand that sensitivity to protein varies between us all.

Yeah, why not start on the pudding first! :D

Yup. Shove convention. Live primal. Varied food and activity patterns. Our ancestors were six inches taller and had bigger brains, and on the whole they most assuredly didn’t have the luxury of worrying whether or not bacon should go with sprouts. Granted they probably didn’t have bacon, or sprouts, but that’s their problem :D

I do agree though that ideally that meal could contain more fat, but otherwise a hearty effort :hungry:

Sprouts are lovely shredded and served with loads of melted butter, pepper and salt.
