This is the very first post I've seen/been drawn to by title/location title/section (I like to start with humour) - and I'm not surprised in the least to find this kind of DIY/self-tailored/experimental attitude. I find the whole diabetes (AND endocrine) "industry" to be woefully inadequate. Personally, I think it's a disgrace. The primary focus, as with so many things in western society, is, money; the profit - instead of the care, the cure.

I have registered here in the hope that I might find solace away from ALL the many avenues I've explored so far for support. A typical example would be the facebook page of diabetes.uk. (as opposed to '.co.uk' ). Where nobody ever bothers to reply and the only things they ever seem to post are promotions for new blood meters.

I went on a DAFNE (oops no can't say that), BERTIE?? (No, can't say that either), structured learning (no capitals, yet, as far as I know) - no-one has 'trademark registered' the words, Structured or Learning, so that no1 else can use them outside of the brand regulations... ...soooo, I went on 'one of them things' and it was rubbish. Teaching ducks to lay eggs.

Just to clarify/add, my post is not meant as a criticism of DeejR's "attitude", more admiration of it, but sadness that it is so prevalent. Like poverty and foodbanks. People are sad about it, but no1's doing fffffffffff all about it bar sounding off and "sharing". We're all being screwed. In fact, isn't it more the case that we're all bending over and ASKING to be screwed?
