Hi
Levemir is being taken off the market at the end of the year and my consultant has started me on Abasaglar.
Since starting this, I've been told to take 8 units mornings only. The result is my BG is highly unstable, sometimes it goes really high during the night, sometimes hypo. During the day I have difficulty keeping BG in range. Also, not sure if it's related but think so, the amount of Novorapid I'm taking has increased without a change in my diet.
Has anyone else changed to or is using Abasaglar? How is it going for you?
Has anyone else come off Levemir and changed to something other than Abasaglar?

I've only been T1D for 4.5 years. Always being on Abasaglar and Novorapid. I would say getting your Basal dose right is a big thing. It does take at least 2 days for a full change for me. I would adjust. Wait at least 2 days then adjust again. I would consult with your diabetes team. I experiment less now. But I have good control. With good hydration, exercise and willing to try something if other things aren't working for me. Remember that being anxious could be having an effect on your levels. Sorry if that sounds patronising.

I haven't changed to Abasaglar but I have used Lantus in the past, a biosimilar of Abasaglar. Some people find it's much more stable if taken morning and evening, like Levemir.
I switched to Tresiba years ago and found that much more stable than either Lantus or Levemir.
