Hello! Does anyone know what the model # is for the Abbott Blood Glucose meter used in the Netherlands? Not sure if I need to use one approved there or at least finding the equivalent model that I use in South America.

It might help if you give a little more information. In the UK Abbott have more than one blood glucose monitor (I have two different ones and both are still available from Abbott) and I would not be surprised if it was the same in Netherlands.

Well I use the freestyle libre 2 here. I heard it might be the freestyle optium Neo as equivalent. But I can’t figure out the Netherlands product page and abbott customer reps are not helpful ☹️

A Freestyle Libre (2 or 3) should be available here just fine. I can't even find a Neo on the Dutch site, to be honest, just the Libres. Not available here just yet, probably, so shouldn't be a problem.

Are you looking for info on the Dutch Freestyle Libre 2 reader on on one of the other glucose meters from Abbott? Libre 2 is a CGM, Optium Neo is a glucose meter for fingerpricking.
I'm happy to look into your question, being able to read Dutch, but I'm not sure I understand the question.

Are you moving to the Netherlands, or going on holiday and wondering if you can still use your Libre 2 here? Or do you need to buy teststrips in the Netherlands and do you want to know if our teststrips will fit your meter?

Hi Antj-

Yes I’ll be moving to the Netherlands for a few months to help out a family friend. I do apologize for confusion on my part as English is not my native language . I want to know if those test strips will fit my glucose meter or if I need to order one in the Netherlands? If I know the products that are used there from their website then I can figure out if it works. I see the libres as far as I can tell on their website, but I want to know the other glucose meters available in that region.

I hope that helps answer your question? Thank you so much for your help!

Don't worry about your English, you're fine, and English is not my first language either. We'll just ask is we're not completely sure what you mean. ;)

Would you be able to simply bring enough teststrips for your trip and use your own strips and meter? That seems the easiest solution to me.

@Stanleycupfan i have both the Freestyle Libre reader and the Optium Neo. They both use the same test strips.
These do not come in a tub - they come in strips of individually wrapped strips in that helps.
I have been using the Neo for about 8 years and like it because it is small and it can test ketones.
