Accu-check mobile cartridges

Good morning all, I asked my doctor for a prescription of cartridges for my Accu-check mobile monitor yesterday and was told they don't have them listed on their system. This is the first time I've needed any as I don't generally need to test. But there's a few complications at the moment and I want to test just to keep an eye on it.
HOW can I get some replacement cartridges? Not the lancets but the actual cartridge that goes inside the monitor that has the test strip on it.
 
If you look at the information you got with the Mobile, you should find a card telling your doctor exactly what to, prescribe.

I've had this problem a number of times and the item is always on the system after they've had a proper look!

You may find that it's harder to get strips as you are Type 2 so check that isn't the reason too.
 
Thanks for all the replies. I have had them off my previous doctor/practice, but we changed doctor about 12 month ago. This is my first request so I don't know why they're not on the system, but I will try passing that PIP code onto them and see if they find them on the system. I bet the receptionist of nurse can find them, gp's give in easily because they don't have time to look.
 
My practice used to supply AccuChek mobiles and cartridges, but my nurse told me recently they have stopped and are now supplying a different meter and strips because AccuChek are far too expensive (and I agree!) I'm not prescribed testing equipment anyway, being Type 2 not on meds, but this cropped up during a general discussion about the cost of testing. I do have an AC Mobile as a spare meter, and I also source the cartridges from eBay. You can get some bargains but watch out for the use-by dates.
