Hi

I have been trying to use the Mobile blood test meter and regularly loose 15% of the tests because it says the blood drop is too small, usually the entire strip is covered so it is not the way it is being used. I have also managed to break 4 of these, fifth one has just broken, does anyone else have a problem with these meters?

@dearme200 I had that a lot at first. I hardly ever have it now. I find I need a big drop of blood and need to position my finger very carefully so the drop goes over the whole of the white patch, from top to bottom. I sometimes move my finger ever so slightly so the blood smears up and down. Try this - it's a knack.

I've never broken a meter. What happened to,it?

Might be time to get a Accu-Chek Performa or similar which use strips like this one, just a little drop of blood goes a long way.

You insert it in the meter first where the arrows are, and when the meter has done it's thing you put your sample on to the shiny bit on the left side of the pix.

When the bloods gone up that bit take your finger / thumb away.

I rarely lose any tests with the Mobile. The trick seems to be not to touch the cassette with your finger - just let the blood drop touch the tape.

This differs from other meters where you would touch the test strip to your finger in order for it to collect blood.

Had mine ages.

I lost probably 25% of tests on my first two cartridges, because I was just ramming my finger in the general direction of the test strip. I rarely lose any now. I make sure I have a big enough blood drop and then move it carefully up to the test strip (at eye level) until it just touches and the strip draws the blood up. I don't touch my finger against the strip. And I pull my finger away when I hear the bleep and the meter shows 'Test in Progress'.
How did you break the meters? They seem pretty robust. Did you throw them against the wall in frustration?!:D

I have been using the Accuchek Mobile for some years although now using the Libre. Very rarely had problems with needing large blood drop. The key is accurate placing a small drop at the point on the strip where the red light glows. Just touch it lightly and it will spread across the lighter band of the strip. The new strips are much easier to cover than the old ones of a year ago.
