Acid reflux much worse on a LC diet. Any tips?

Cider vinegar gags me and I burp or bloat. Yuk
You’re clearly showing low acid which is why you can’t break down acidic foods. No acid and the PPI’s won’t be doing you any favors.
Have you heard of HCL? It is used for people with low acid allowing you to break down foods. If you don’t like that idea a digestive enzyme would also help. I favor Enzymedica enzymes. Very pure.

I have also used source naturals with good luck.
The symptoms of both low and high acid are the same. The fact your not breaking down acidic foods also shows you’re low acid.

I studied/ researched nutrition forever it seems to help my daughter as well as myself. Sometimes we can’t FIX these things but we can MANAGE them either with diet or supplements. I would recommend a digestive enzyme for you. Broad based to inclugpce all protein( protease); fats ( lipase) and all sugars and starches ( amylase being the main one )

It could also be something you’re eating like grains? Saturated fats? Sugars? Dairy. All highly suspect foods.
So, advice out there in the world is that if you have low acid you should supplement with something acidic to balance...but you're saying that acidic foods aren't broken down because I have too little acid. It seems counter-intuitive....is there a scientifically proven test to find out whether acid is low or high?

Thanks, I'll try the enzymes.... Clearly it's the dairy in the LCHF that's doing it, as I don't eat sugars or grains!
They make enzymes for just dairy. Lactase. However it could be the casein or whey. Lactade tablets never worked for me, nor did lactose free dairy so I suspect it’s one of the other two for me

Might not be the dairy. But wouldn’t hurt to find out and eliminate it completely for a few days.
It could just be low stomach acid. Then the enzymes should really help. You can find them anywhere but a health food store would have higher quality. Some have HCL in them and some not. They have the enzymes that we aren’t providing in our digestion to break down the foods. The HCL is the acid we aren’t providing.

Let me know how it goes !!

Not that I’m aware of or I’d have done it.
What I’m saying is if you have low acid, the HCL would provide you with the acid. You need the acid to break down the acidic foods. You’re taking a PPI so stopping you’re production. The acidic foods cause acid but if we don’t have acid we can’t break them down. I can’t explain this. Haha. If you go to a health food store I’m sure they can. I’ll find some links to send you when I have time.

I did all those except the honey thing. I couldn’t stomach ACV but a small tsp of mustard was ok. Sometimes even now when I feel refluxy I’ll do that. One of the biggest things that helped me was small meals. Mine are quite small but I eat them every three hours. This also helps my bs emmensly. I can’t spike too high with a small amount of lc foods and it allows me to keep insulin very low. I don’t eat slabs of meats, piles of veggies or gorge on fats at any time or I’d be a wreck. My diet is the way it is to manage my stomach if not more than bs

There’s loads of info on low stomach acid and they’ll all include enzymes, HCL and small meals.
