As part of my recent type 2 diagnosis I gave a urine sample and received the results in the post today. Unfortunately they didn't give any units in the letter so I'm left completely unsure whether things are ok or not! The two numbers given under "Kidney Tests" are 0.7 and 7, and then the blood kidney test says >90. But as I say, no units, no reference ranges... any ideas what this means?

Cheers, Nat

I would suggest phoning your surgery and ask for a print out of these results, which they should do. You can then go down to collect them and they should have all the reference ranges alongside your results.

The >90 will be your eGFR, which is an estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate of the kidneys. >90 (over 90) is perfect.
No idea what the others are. I suggest you ring the surgery and ask for print outs of the tests. These will show you what the results were and the standard ranges.
