Advice for sore toe please

Hi, I have barely any toe nails on my big toes after severe fungal infections damaged nail beds. Somebody trod on my toe on Friday and it split some skin. It's quite sore, not infected as yet but the split has got bigger. Seems pointless to bother the doctor but I'm concerned as my Diabetic nurse always makes a point of telling me to check my feet. Should I just wait and see or book an appt? I don't want to waste an appt. I have excellent Diabetic control. Thank you for any advice/answers.

Having had a infected toe / toe nail last year, I suggest you see your GP soon as you can.

I agree with daisyduck and tipetoo.
I had two infected toenails post surgery a couple of months ago and ended up going to A&E in the early hours of the morning.
I was afraid of being a time waster but I was wrong. Turned out I did the right thing and the staff were lovely. They were treated and I was given more effective antibiotics.
Please do get it seen to asap. I too had then, as now, excellent diabetic control. Please let us know how you get on.

This is exactly how diabetics end up getting amputations. Deal with it NOW. Go see a doctor.

Certainly, you need to be seen very soon but I would think your Diabetes Nurse should be able to deal with it, including giving you a prescription if necessary. If not, she will ask one of the GPs to see you.
