Hi all I want to say what a brilliant forum this is and What excellent information and advice on this site. Can anyone give me advice please I've been diagnosed with type2 since December 12 been put on metformin 4 500mg per day and just started bayetta and still getting bg levels of 14- 21 Mmol is this normal

I am type 2 your readings should be
before meals 4-7 2hrs after meal under 8.5.
are you eating carbs but a limited amount.
I am having to go back to dn as i can set of in a morning before breakfast 6.5 then go as high as 19.0 even though i am watching what i eat & use a meter you might have to do what i am having to do go back to see dn.
do you eat any sweet things because i was a big sweet person but now switched to sugar free sweets & biscuits.
I might have porridge or burgen toast with peanut butter or egg & bacon.
I am on metformin 1000mg x2 with evening meal
 
HI. As Destiny says, carbs may be the key. Are you low-carbing and having low-GI carbs when you do? Are you overweight? If so then insulin resistance would be the obstacle and you would need to lose weight to get the resistance and then the sugars down. Let us know what your BMI is. Thanks
