Advice on blood readings

I wonder if anyone could offer some advice on blood sugar levels.

I have not been feeling myself recently and purchased one of these monitors.

I have tried to read a bit online but your never sure how accurate it is.

Basically my fasting level in the morning was 4.1, I read somewhere thats classed on the low side.

About and hour and a half after a meal it was up at 6.

However at around 11pm it was down at 4.8 and I read somewhere it should be around 8 at bedtime, should any of the above cause concern or warrant further monitoring.

Any advice appreciated, the tester only came with 10 strips and I made a boob of a few so haven't been able to test a lot but would purchase more if it warranted it.

Thanks in advance

If you are non-diabetic then you do not have to worry about that night time figure. If you did go low blood sugar during the night then your liver would' dump' glucose into your system and you would not know anything about it.The only diabetics who worry about having a low night time figure are the ones who may 'hypo' during the night because of medication.

A diabetic who is as low as 4 may be hypoing but for a non -diabetic this figure is fairly normal.Tell me when you tested at 4 how did you feel?

Well I've not been feeling great at all for a while now, sometimes having a feeling of like my body is shutting down sometimes, it's hard to explain, seem to be thirsty quite a lot.

If that is the case then you should see your GP ASAP. This could be anything, which might not be related to Diabetes ?

Have been back and forth a few times, was down and out for a bit and they labelled it as a URTI, hd blood tests and all sorts and they said things would pass blah blah virus etc...just the usual go away your not dying attitude.

Was curious on checking my blood sugars to see if that was an issue, been getting a lot of headaches too and often tired which is not the norm for me

Your blood sugar levels look disgustingly healthy to me!
Those aren't diabetic blood sugars by any stretch of the imagination.
Hope you feel better soon,

fergus
