I am T2, diagnosed November 2016 and have always managed my diet.
Diagnosis at first a1c was 51 then 49, 2 weeks later.
I got it down to 42 the next test, gave up smoking and it went to 51 again thru weight gain the following test.
My last test in January it was back to 48.
My nurse wants to put me on metformin but I’ve refused as I know I can get it back to under 48 with diet and exercise. Am I right to refuse it?
Also, My cholesterol was 5.4 then 5.7 and now down to 4.9 and my nurse wants to to take a statin. Surely I don’t need statins of my cholesterol is 4.9?
Any advise gratefully received.
