I have had T2 for nearly five years. Unfortunately I was not diagnosed for some time as a result I have purple feet and all the tingling etc that goes with it. My question is does pain reflect on your numbers. I am in quite severe pain and my usually controlled numbers are very erratic 15.9 yesterday. Thank you

@Pauline1951 - Hello:). In answer to your question I will say YES. I recently fractured my kneecap and my blood sugars are much higher. It's well known that pain, worry and stress releases Cortisol into the blood, which elevates blood sugar.

Hi. You obviously have a complex set of conditions with many meds. Have you spent time with your GP/consultants to see whether those that can raise blood sugar can be swapped for another medication or reduced etc. I'm not trying to be an expert here or suggest changes but it's well known that many GPs just add meds without reviewing the complete set or recommend statins to diabetics when they raise blood sugar etc. Your blood sugar appears to be too high and perhaps some changes would help; may be nothing can be done. I can't comment on the pain other than as the earlier poster says any stress can raise sugar.

Hi Liam, The diagnosis was neuropathy. I take gaberpentin and thankfully only now and again does it kick off. I have tried most creams but have found that Daktar is brilliant. I have nine medical conditions and take 30+ tablets a day. To be honest my body must be utterly confused. Take care

Hi Darrell, Thank you for your reply to my question. Due to the fact that I have multiple medical issues I don't see my doctor. I see a community matron sometimes that situation works sometimes it doesn't she is overloaded with cases and at times you can feel a bit neglected. Diabetes has been very low on the list of late due to arthritic flare UPS. I will however take your advice and I'll see if they can be reviewed many thanks indeed
