I was diagnosed t2 in April this year no treatment just told loose weight am going on a day course oin October.
Trying to keep to lw carb diet but am having trouble sleeping I wake at 2-3 am and then so end rest of night tossing and turning and am really tired my gp says if I only sleep for 4 hours then that all the sleep I need. I don't agree but ven tried hero remedies and no difference today when I woke early I fe,t the usual headache and empty fdtomach feeling had a sugar free sweet. Tested at 7 am before breakfast bg was 9 tested 2hours after fruit yoghurt breakfast b.g 14 8. Due to recent dr visit art week he and deck have fruit or breakfast as have other robes. I am not due te see nurse till December or January if she remembers and wonder if I shucked be doing anything else to lower bg.

Hi. A bit difficult to understand some of your post due to spelling, but I wouldn't connect the lack of sleep with diabetes. Was the fruit yogurt low-fat BUT high added sugar? To lower your blood sugar just keep going with the low-carb diet. Why do you have to wait for the nurse appointment I always book my appointments with my surgery when I know they are due.

Sorry about selling after my app in April nurse said she would call me in in June she isn't do I ad the app for July she rang after bg results. Said she would call me back in 6. Months ie dec/ Jan I know she wont bother so I will make app for myself. I will keep taking bg levels before and 2. Hours after meals see if I can get levels down today is been 9 on waking 14.8 after breakfast just taken before lunch it's 9.8 is this high if so how long should I leave it before going to surgery thanks

HI. Thanks for the info. The levels are high enough to possibly need to be started on Metformin. You should have an HBa1C test 3 months after diagnosis so do set an appointment ASAP as you should have had the test by now. This will guide the surgery on whether to add any meds. Do keep going low-carb as far as necessary to lose weight and blood sugar. You surgery are obviously not very good so do take control i.e. arrange an appointment, ask for an HBa1C test and arrange another appointment shortly after the test to discuss results (or phone for a discussion). The NICE Diabetes website (Google it) has a good Pathways document which is the process your GP or DN should be following. The Diabetes UK website (www.diabetes.org) lists the 15 things you should expect from the NHS as a diabetic.

Had hba1c in June that's when nurse said she would see me in 6 months. Aim this morning 7 am bg tested at 11.3 I will carry on testing befor meals an 2 hours after for the rest of this week and will call surgery if continues thanks for reply I was just wondering if e reason I wake every couple of hour is because of my sugar levels thanks again
