Firstly I know no one can diagnose anything, but Im just after some advice for my friend.
She has been having trouble for over a year now with symptoms that would sound like a digestive disorder eg feeling sick in the evenings, usually a few hours after eating, frequent bowel movements and weight loss. She has had many tests at the hospital and they are all normal. Now she can't gain weight and is underweight for her height. She has also been recenlty diagnosed with PCOS although been suffering for a few years. She is aware that people with PCOS can develop type 2 diabetes, but she is not overweight or anything like that. There have also been over symptoms that come and go like tiredness. Feeling shivery/cold. For example when she was at work she would go for lunch and after eating she would go to start work again and she would be shivering from feeling cold.
Also recently, she is quite embarrassed about this she has noticed that in her underwear she has some leakage of urine and its not full on wetting yourself nor is is just a few drops, somewhere in between.
It also leaves a strong smell. This happens most days.

She just doesnt know what to do anymore, can you actually get digestive problems with diabetes and because she is not overweight is it less likely she could have developed diabetes type 2. She just wants an answer for feeling this unwell for so long.

Thanks

Has she been tested for DBs that is the only way to find out for sure.I was underweight when I was diagnosed but as your friend has so many other problems she needs to use pester power with her GP to get more tests to find out what is going on.

Thanks for your reply. My friend had a fasting blood glucose test, but has not heard back from the gp, so is assuming they are normal. She was still feeling unwell so decided to purchase a blood glucose monitor. She has only tested her levels once and that was 2 hours after eating a sandwich one evening. The result was 4.6 mmol, which she assumes is a normal reading. So she is just baffled as to what is going on and what is causing the frequent bathroom visits, feeling sick and weight loss. She is also feeling hungry a lot more and drinking a lot more fluids. Hopefully she can work out whats going on. She was also going to test her glucose levels after waking in the morning. What would be a normal level at that time?

Ok my friend has asked me to post her blood sugar levels from over the last few days.

Wednesday 2 hours after dinner it was - 4.6 mmol

Thursday morning before breakfast it was - 4.6 mmol

Thursday 2 hours after breakfast it was - 5.3 mmol

Thursday 2 hours after dinner it was 4.3 mmol

Friday morning before breakfast it was 4.8 mmol

This are all normal right? This isnt diabetes is it?

My friend recieved a letter to book an appointment to see her gp about her blood test results. So is unsure what is going on.

As stated here before we do not diagnose, it is not allowed.

Therefore your friend needs to get a proper diagnosis from the GP and if it is Diabetes then we can offer further help and assistance. Until then........your friend just has to wait and see.
